Man, what a fair review! You also totally nailed the difference in our approaches. You make it fun, I make it accessible. Thanks James!

You got a thumbs up 100% for the "Wright way and a Rex way" joke. 😂

Love seeing the YT woodworker community come together, be fair to one another and STOP CONFUSING PEOPLE.

"Not always the Wright way, but the Rex way, too" - I am deceased 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Having truly square stuff, as a beginner, is a massive difference. Thank you for this one!
Edit: you're bang on about Rex's channel. I watched a lot of videos about benches, but his was the first one I ever built.

I truly enjoy the little bantering you both share and your respect for each other!!

When I'm not doing a project (usually a custom box) I'm making jigs or "thingys" to help me make better cuts or sanding blocks, etc. I love people who make helpful jigs. I'm going to make myself a pair of bench hooks, THX.

Wood By Wright How To is an amazing channel that I have enjoyed for years. Thank you James for creating woodworking content that feels like it's just for me. Your style of woodworking for the joy of it is exactly what I aim to do. Keep it up!

What a great product review and a stupendious compare and contrast between you and @RexKrueger

Great work. Im not a dedicated handtool wood worker, but they are certainly mixed into my workflow, as are both you and Rex mixed into my "view flow"!

You both add great info to the world in a fun way...even if Rex is in the Mistake on the Lake with those Browns...

😊😊

It takes a lot of work to find such simplicity. Nice review. Plus love seeing communities support each other.

These are great for someone that doesn’t have a bench vise yet, or foe someone who just likes to have options

I like using both, my bench hooks for making cross cuts and my vise for rip cuts. Also it's awesome that you really do actually read everyone's comments. If they've asked a question you reply rather quickly too. Speaking from experience. Thanks James!

You really helped me get into woodworking, I use both hand and power tools . I got a Stanley no.7 for 20 aud (13usd ) and a no.4 for 10 aud (6 usd) and they both work great just a sharpen and I flatten the sole a little bit

I absolutely love both of you guys’ videos, you each are invaluable in your unique ways of teaching, and as a beginner, I learn so much from both of you. As you mentioned, as a beginner, the two things I struggle with most are sharpening my tools and getting things square. My first bench hook is very dear to me but is it perfectly square? Haha, no. So I got these Sawyer hooks and they are wonderful!! So great to have a perfectly square shooting and sawing bench hook to start a project. Eventually, I will get my sharpening and squaring game on point. But I appreciate having this easy win that decreases frustration and increases the fun as I learn. ❤

Love watching both you and Rex! Just got my CR bench hooks last week (bought the seconds also). T-Rex, that was great!

When I first started I wanted to build everything my self. And I did. Sort of the Rex way to do it, because it´s the cheap way to do it. Making two bench hooks cost nothing because all ou need are left over scraps. But as time went on I discovered, that it also takes a lot of time to build all these jiggs. It´s good practise but it takes time and I notices that my "real" projects didn´t come a along as wuickly as I hoped. So now I´m way more open to just buying a jig for the task...
And it´s also a great way to support the producers.
Keep it up guys!
