Due to pyramiding rules the VA will not give you ratings for both flat feet and plantar fasciitis. You will get the higher of the 2 ratings. Pes Planus (flat feet) can be rated as high as 50% if it occurred in or was aggravated by service.

My MEPS medical exam and active service exams documented Pes Planus. My current PCP and referral podiatrist confirmed current diagnosis plantar fasciitis bi lateral heel spurs/ Achilles tension tender, dorsal in step both feet. Flight deck 6 years. I believe I’ll get a possible 50% plantar fasciitis

Hello Jay, appreciate your synopsis! I possess Two "conditions" from USMC 1966-1970; Which are both Diagnoses emanating from/Out of The V.A. Medical system: 1. "Bi-Lateral Severe Plantar Fasc" and 2. From The Mission Act and Referal from My VA M.D. Podiatrist to Neurology MD/OD (At Cost to VA of $845.00!) "Bi-Lateral Neurology at 40%" And
Which Never made it into (my) Record, albeit I have Copy of diagnosis!
Am Receiving from VA; Zero, Nothing, Zilch on account of Admin HOLD;
ie; I Do Have an somewhat "Active Appeal/Claim, Certified to 2006 (Now) and Which is in Stage #3 (of Five) rendering a "Decision"; which
Is Final and Without Error! The/My Original/ latest Decision was 12/07/2022, However was Not a Decision but Was a Remanded Decision, requiring detailed Answers! A response which over one year
Later had zero input from one specific "Clinician"!!

Would be interested to hear how you could claim this if you weren’t seen for specific foot pain while in service, but was certainly service connected (I have heel spurs & podiatrist dx plantar fasciitis and wear custom orthotics currently)

I broke my foot in service and have a 0% rating for it. I have had a MRI and x-ray done and nothing found. It does cause pain. Do i have a shot at a rating increase?

Can you file aggravated claim with other claims on same itf

So if I'm rated at 50% for flat feet and just got diagnosed with planter fasciitis, I should just leave my service connected flat feet alone.

So was recently denied for plantar fasciitis since my records show that the Marines allowed me to enter with flat feet before boot camp. I was infantry so we know how that goes for wear and tear on the feet already. Havent been able to find any videos that adress this as it seems to me a a way for the VA to get out of having to pay for a condition the military ened up causing.

Would you have to get rated for the flat feet first if it pertains?

Hello,
What happens if my Nexus is for bilateral but the C&P exam only addressed one foot? I am just noticing this, claim still in process.

I’ve been seen by my podiatrist multiple times, injections and insoles do not provide relief and he will not perform surgery on my feet, Va still has me at 10% for bilateral plantar fasciitis. Thoughts?

So you have to have surgery to get a rating?

Do steroid shots in both heels warrant the 30%? Does that count as “surgical” treatment? Otherwise it would just be 10% for bilateral.

I just walked out of my C&P exam for plantar fascitis. It only lasted about 15 mins, I was only asked about 5 or 6 questions and that was it. I though they would ask if it affected my social life with family or work but no. Then she went back and said I'm gonna change this to both feet, and check check check all boxes for both feet. I really hope I get rated correctly. She did write down interference with prolonged walking, sitting and standing

Have 10% service connected plantar fasciitis on right foot, recently saw a civilian podiatrist and said I’ve got bilateral plantar fasciitis and bilateral flat feet, flat feet noted in med record going into Marine Corps…should I put in the flat feet and left foot plantar fasciitis As secondary to right foot or new claim altogether?? Thx

I am sc @ 10% for plantar fasciatis, and during a recent visit to VA podiatrist, my condition was noted in treatment record as severe.

I was also diagnosed with "flexible flat feet" and was referred for inserts (which were made. Is this new information enough to file for a rating increase?
