What should be done about people who can't afford higher education?

Nothing. What should be done about people who can't afford a boat or a flight to Thailand? Nothing.

I think the first point you should make is that in a free society, education would be relatively more affordable.

More to it than that. For example, the USA from about 1990 to about 2007 put massively too much investment in housing and associated skills and trades. And didn't invest nearly enough in manufacturing. That's a big part of why China, and India, were able to take those jobs, and why it will be hard to get them back. Which is yet another non-free part of the current economy.

Many great entrepreneurs of both the 19th century and the modern era were home-schooled or dropped out of formal education. Personally I had barely finished high school before I got myself a job in IT and worked up from there.

In a free market, there's work for everyone, and it's the greatest producers who rise to the top - not through handouts but through personal merit.

If you want to see creative production, then don't treat potential students like 5yr olds. Treat them like autonomous, self-reliant adults, responsible for their own fate.

It was a straight insult, not a substitute for judging ideas. I did judge your ideas by noting that you asserted w/o evidence.

It turns out that, the way to maximize productiveness is freedom. Shown again and again by numerous studies. That is, Objectivism leads to the nice result of the highest material good.

Its shown by common human experience, not pseudo-scientific statistics. Man's mind needs freedom from the mindless.

Creative productiveness is huge, for sure. But, subsidizing anything through theft creating trillions of dollars in unfunded liabilities is not sustainable and will not work. How do you propose making third level education free? Do we really want it to emulate our current elementary and high school education (as they struggle so deeply)? The way to maximize creative productiveness is not through govt planning, but rather through more choices for individuals. We should seek more freedom in

Tell that to China. They have basically become the factory of the world, they produce what others invent. Only recently have they started to use the creative side of their population. But they have one of the best economies out there. Why? Because no matter who invents the product, the person who wins is the one who can make it. And if everyone is an inventor and no one will work a factory, that is national suicide.

Whether Rand was on medicare in a world where health care and health insurance are heavily regulated by government is neither here nor there regarding whether education should be private or not. Indeed, she probably would have accepted a government-financed scholarship to go to college, if necessary, in the current education system mess. Neither is hypocrisy in this context. . .The "dictatorship" you're describing is akin to the crony socialism of Russia, not a laissez faire capitalist society.

Look at his channel...he's an old man who used to host a cable-access show. He has a really old interview with Barney Frank posted.

"I think everybody know that it isn't" Oh damn, I was already nodding 'yes' tot the first question in the video. I mean, of course it is.

why not have another way people pay for college? like the craftsman did when this country got started.

College education will be affordable under the perfectly free market economy. Case closed!

Fallacy of ignorance. You "forgot" to provide evidence for judgment.

Sorry for being obtuse, but could you write in standard English?

How do you "win" the 21st century?

It's not a convincing argument. It's like asking: What should be done about people who can't afford food in a free society? And you responding: the poor who can't afford a meal are wrong to put a gun to my head to finance it. Is that convincing? If the guy can't eat, he's going to die, so what difference does it make if he forces you to finance him? What difference does it make to _him_?
