Amex is one of the best out =) I have a total of 8 cards with them with only 1 hard pull on my belt. 5 credit cards and 3 charge cards. Perks and rewards r gr8, customer service is outstanding, just gotta love being in the Amex Club ❤❤❤

American Express customer service is UNDEFEATED. I still have Chase at the top of my favorite lender's list, but Amex has their customer service beat for sure. Also, the fact that you only have 1 hard pull with the first personal card you get with them and only soft pulls after that is pretty awesome. Amex may overtop Chase for me one day!! Great video Luke!

Luke, if I may, I recommend doing a video of all your credit cards (past and present) why you got them and why you keep them open still!

AMEX has the BEST benefits of all the credit card issuers. I’ve had so many experiences I never would have had without this card, and they do a great job updating their (premium) cards based on customer feedback 👍. My favorite benefit is by far FHR like you mentioned! Thanks for sharing Luke!

I LOVE that amex gives the temp card so you can start hitting min soon asap. And the overnight FedEx shipping of your card is icing on the cake. I too have had to wait 10 days to receive a chase card. It's very annoying

I LOVE 💕 AMEX, totally blown away! I just double dipped on savings using my Gold card for a booking using The Hotel Collection in Vegas. We stayed at The Virgin Hilton Curio and not only did we get the $100 on site dining and beverage credit, we got the $30 per day Hilton credit food/beverage credit, plus we got two 2 for 1 drinks at the Resort and an additional $20 credit!! Amex wrote me a welcome letter too! 💌 I'm new to top level cards so I feel very spoiled!!! Thanks for the great video, as always!!!

I have 5 Amex Cards that I'm going to keep, plus 2 that I'm phasing out. All other issuers I have 1-2 card, which combined make up 50%.

I started building my card profile with Chase this year, and I definitely see your criticisms with them, especially with the hard pulls and waiting for your card. Their customer service has been good though (I have nothing to compare it to yet though). I plan to move to Amex next, and the more I hear about it, the more excited I get about it!

The instant card number and no hard pull for existing customers are my top reasons for having AMEX cards!

For me its Chase first then amex . Currently have 12 Chase cards sitting on $5300 in ur points. The earning multipliers on the freedom flex is a work horse card. Not to mention free cell phone insurance with the freedom flex up to $600 with a deductible. With American Express you have to pay an annual fee to get that benefit. Chase usually gives Visa and MasterCard‘s which are accepted all over the world. Not every business except American Express. One thing that I may say for American Express is that I really like that you don’t need to pay annual fee to transfer your pointsfor, example with the blue business plus card you can transfer your points. You can also use Rakuten to stock more and more points. Are use Chase primarily to earn points and Amex as secondary . There is no right or wrong answer your mileage may vary in this game. Sitting on 114k amex points without paying any annual fees. Great video as always.

Great Video Luke! I don’t have any business with AMEX yet but you explained very well why it’s beneficial to have them in your portfolios. Thanks for all the knowledge & tips! 🙌🏻

Hey Luke great video and info as always those 5 reasons r spot on, I do have a question with Chase when applying for a card is it a hard pull every time?

Another entertaining one. :-)
About the only thing I dislike about AMEX is the 4 to 6 credit cards rule. I get it, and I love my charge cards. But if I could, I would love to build up three or four aspire cards, and maybe three Brilliant cards, and have all of my vacations prepaid and deeply discounted every year.

I think the way that FHR stacks with Hilton and the Marriott status, and even Hyatt status, is really underrated. Sure, the FHR benefits will usually outweigh most of your other hotel benefits, and the prices are not low, but you can still get some great experiences out of it, and a load of hotel points in the bargain.

Would you consider a “My perfect five Amex credit cards” video? Put most of your eggs in one basket by building yourself a three aspire and two brilliant set up? Maybe go for three expires, one Hilton business card, and the blue business plus, so that you end up with four free night certificates every year, enough Hotel points to stretch that out to a couple of “free” stays every year, and then the BBP to just finish off with transferable points?

Looking forward to your next one.

I'm the only one that got 2 hard inquiries two times. TransUnion and Experian 😭. But I have been approved for 13 Amex cards 😂

Hey Luke another great video. I learn a lot from your channel. I agree with most of your points and feel that Amex is the best, with room to improve of course. Question for you; when Max rewards activate Amex offers, how does it know which card is the optimum card to add it to if you have multiple Amex cards? For example, an offer at a restaurant probably should be activated to Gold card whereas an airline offer probably goes to a Platinum card. And Hilton offer to an Aspire card.

Thanks for the vd Luke! And also Amex bank provides pretty decent cd and high yield savings rates as right now.
