MEDICAL SCHOOL ESSENTIALS! What You Should / Shouldn't Buy Before Your First Year

Welcome back to my channel. My name is Ariella, and I make videos about my life as a second year medical student in the United States.

Today I wanted to share with you a short list of my personal essentials that I definitely needed during my first year of med school. I also talk about things that I recommend you avoid buying - at least until you get to school to help save you some of that loan money! Also, keep in mind that what you end up using most often will of course be personal to you, and my "essentials" may not align perfectly with what you use :)

This is so helpful- I was just thinking today that I need to look into what I need to buy for med school this fall. And then as I was watching the video I was questioning if I should wait to buy books/equipment until school starts or now and then you answered that question right away haha. Thanks so much!

I just started medical school in Sweden. I have a MacBook 13" and iPad 12.9". Yesterday I bought the magic keyboard instead of the Smart Keyboard for the iPad because I wanted the trackpad. But now I'm thinking it was overkill and that I should return it. I wanted a keyboard case for the iPad because I thought that maybe I want to only bring my iPad to school sometimes (and home/vacation) and that it could be useful when using the iPad as a second screen... what do you think? Are you happy with your keyboard case and find it useful? :)

Perhaps you should also make a video on what mindset should we be having when we get to med school 😂...I mean it’s kinda funny, but it’s super important to have something in back of your mind the day you enter school...Sound Mindset is the most important instrument, i think... 😊
