📚Description: Steve Howe's "The Les Paul" is one of the more popular guitars on my channel. I had sold this guitar a few years back but recently got it back. About a year ago, Steve's Webmaster reached out to me saying Steve saw that video and enjoyed it very much! I asked if Steve would be willing to tell his tale about this guitar and he was happy to oblige!

This is a phone interview I had with Steve Howe in March 2024. This is edited and pieced together to tell a congruent story and many of my lines had to be redubbed for clarity and because the audio was too hot.

It was a great chat! There might even be an opportunity to reunite him to play this guitar again in the future. The Pearl Buttons were not found, but the 4 pickups have been promised to me so hopefully we can recreate that guitar someday on the show!

I had to smile when Steve offered to dig up the old tuner knobs for you. What class!

I am very impressed with this interview. You were prepared, didn't sound gobsmacked, and really got some great information all the way through. Very well done indeed.

Don't think I've ever been genuinely happy for a YouTuber until now. Congratulations!

Not just super cool he would have such long, friendly, informative conversation but that he offered to go look for the original tuning buttons is amazing. What a great dude.

A huge thank you to Mr. Howe, so very interesting.
Sharing his stories was both gracious and appreciated.
I'd like to see Gibson do a similar run of Les Paul Customs.

Yes was the first concert I went to with my own money. A magical night with The Eagles as the opening act followed by The Edgar Winter Group and finally Yes to finish off the night. All for $5.00 and free parking. Wonderful to hear the story of Steve Howes guitar journey and the history of this guitar in particular. Thankyou Trogly.

I was only 9 years old back in '79 when my older brother and sister could see Yes live. They couldn't take me because I was too young and I remember crying lol. Fast forward to the '91 Reunion tour, I saw them
live and what a treat that I would never forget. Steve Howe was and still is a fantastic guitarist
and what a cool interview with him. He seems to have so much class as a person. I'm sure you were ecstatic about how well the interview went.

How awesome that you got to speak to and interview one of the very finest guitarists to ever walk the planet! He's such a nice guy. I've met him a couple times and he has always been super cool! This interview also reminded me that I've got a set of his guitar strings. His guitar tech gave them to me after he swapped them out during a load in for an Asia show back in 2019. I cherish them!
