Thanks for sharing! I have seen these growing at the Desert Botanical Gardens and they’ve been on my “I’m curious about this plant” list ever since I saw them there. I had no idea these could be used as fertilizer. All very helpful!

Try Tithonia Fruticosa. Summer winds has it sometimes and Desert Survivors in Tucson usually has it. 12by12 grows real fast and will get several hundred 4-6 inch flowers 5-6 months a year.

Hello, I am also starting to grow Mexican sunflower 🌻. I am giving each mango and longan tree one Mexican sunflower 🌻 for shade and fertilization. I am in southern California. Thanks for the video. Very informative.

Hello! I discovered your channel yesterday and truly amazed and thankful for the information. I initially saw the rose video and quickly moved to several other videos. I’m also in AZ in Buckeye. I am just starting, trying to mend my soil and hopefully soon put my first plant in the ground. Will definitely watch many more of your videos as a guide. Thank you!!! :)

Hi - I'm in zone 9b in FL and I have this growing specifically as a chop and drop for my bananas. The bananas absolutely LOVE this stuff and you really have to cut it back often. The flowers are great - the bees love them. I notice you have South African roses - do you ever sell cuttings? Ludwigs isn't shipping to the USA. I lived in Phx for 8 yrs in early 2000s and wish I'd known as much about hot climate gardening as I do now. Love your desert food forest!

Love the information you provide on your videos, Natasha. I have some questions I'm hoping you can answer: 1) when is the best time to plant in the ground in Phoenix? 2) If planted in the fall, could they take full sun? I'm a little confused because you said in the video to plant in a shady area, but in a response to another comment you say sunny area. I'm guessing that's because the video referenced summer planting vs the comment referenced winter planting, but 3) once established does it do best planted in sunny or shady area? Thanks!

I was really excited about this plant but I've seen a few studies that have since made me nervous, maybe you've heard of this. Apparently it (along with others in the Asteraceae family) contains phytotoxins that can inhibit growth in other plants. It seems to work well for you and many other people I've seen recommend it on youtube, so maybe it's overstated and highly dependent on species of 'competing' plant, but something to perhaps keep an eye on

Hello! I ordered my first one from Green Dreams. Any recommendations for planning it, soil type and how often to water? I am also in AZ, in Buckeye. Thank you for the awesome videos.

Hi where can I buy this Mexican flowers from? Green dreams don’t ship to Arizona. Do you know any other sources? Or do you sell cuttings? Thank you for your video. Very informative.

Great video. I must have missed it before. I wonder if it's a good idea to wait till fall or later to order the plant from the east coast with this heat and the long travel to the west coast?
