Absolutely beautiful. Grew this plant for the first time this year and purchased the seeds from my grocery store that carries Bitanical Interest seeds. Planted more than one plant all over in different gardens around my house and the one that did the best was the one that got the top chewed off by a critter. It bushed out beautifully and is still blooming. The others were kind of leggy before they started to bush out and needed to be staked. This one I haven't needed to stake yet. So next year I'm gonna pinch off the tops myself like I do with many of my other plants. It will continue to bloom around the middle of October or so when we get our first first here in N.Y. And from now on it's a garden must for the butterflies.

I grew one of these last summer. I will do it again this summer. This is a stunning plant.
I saved a few seed heads, I plan on sowing a border along the wood line .

Hey man, Dale here. I just discovered your channel last week, it’s great. I’m loving your Garden Spotlight vids, I’m going through and eating all of them and make a list of seed I have to try. Great job. 👍🏻

I love this plant! Great idea to stake it. I’ll do that this yr.
I planted a few last yr., & they took over the bed. I couldn’t access my beans on the fence, so I cut it down. About a month later, it was right back! This yr., I’ll just let it have the bed to itself. 🌻

I only got one from the seeds I planted but it’s huge. Mine hasn’t flowered yet so I am hoping it does before our first frost. I’m in the Pacific Northwest zone 8b and we are not supposed to get our first frost until November. Fingers crossed!

It looks pretty hardy. Does it die back in winter where you're at?

The leaves are eatable....pick tender ones tastes like pumpkin leaves! I complained for years about 'this weed' in my backyard during rain season and if it had any use!! Not until last year did i discover i was sitting on 'gold mine '!!! I dont need fertiliser its on my fingertips at no cost!!!

Sunflower seeds are good for diabetes [ Prevention ]: I am a Biologist and a Pharmacist by education. It is very sad the Pharmacy Curriculum here in USA do not have Pharmacognosy [ I took a Post Graduate at USC, University of Southern California. I finished B. S. Pharmacy in the Philippines, and we have the Subject: all plants have Medicinal Values that are yet to be discovered, I assume by College of Naturophaty....India study a lot about medicinal plants and Europe, is sad we use too much synthetic drugs, and so dependent upon it, rather than learning to eat food from nature good for our health.
