I'm currently halfway though Dr Ryken's commentary, and am really enjoying it. It's different than my other commentaries. Instead of slow study, I'm reading right through. Thank for your recommendation earlier! I also picked up the NICOT Jeremiah commentary by Dr Goldingay for further study. Thanks again for all you do🙏

As always, thanks for what you do for us! The extra nuggets at the end were extremely helpful. God bless!

Block's commentary on ezekiel is like a 2 volume technical commentary from the NICOT as well as the 2 volume commentary on isaiah by Oswalt. Also young's commentary on isaiah is i think a 2 volume commentary. For Daniel commentary i would go for John Walvoord's.

Thank you again. I have used John Oswalt's two volumes, which are tremendous and having read most of his NIVAC on Isaiah it is full of fascinating application and the main points of exegesis as well. Daniel Block took something like ten years writing the two volumes. They are astonishingly detailed and also readable. Very useful. The NIVAC commentaries do make relatively easy introductions to the OT and NT books (I have only come across one (NT) which I would say is rather dull and dry but the ones on the Gospels are IMO excellent, and of course TL's is a good read on Daniel (I found his UtBC on Jeremiah a bit too brief; too often he seems to simply retell the chapters' contents). He has interesting comments on the identities of the beasts for quick reference. My only minor criticism (from memory) is his comment that God doesn't use dreams today; I think that is unjustified and exemplifies general problems IMO with academic commentaries, that too many of the writers seem totally unaware of so much wonderful and miraculous work that the Lord is doing around the World today. John Oswalt is not one of them and he has served us so well by doing long and longer series of talks on Isaiah available on YT. Such a blessing and a delightful teacher.

Other long conservative treatments of Lamentations include John MacKay's Mentor Commentary (240 pages) and Abner Chou's EEC. Chou's is only available in Logos right now and does not have a page count, but given the length of other volumes in the EEC, it may be longer than House and MacKay. Not mentioned, but Tanner's premillenial commentary on Daniel in the EEC is outstanding (864 pages).

The other day I realized that apparently there are not many vary good commentaries on Daniel, the best are somewhat dated already.. I am looking forward to John Walton's commentary that is yet to be released..

You don't mention Alec Motyer on Isaiah! Also a Premillian commentary on Ezekiel would be Alexander in the ECB Revised series.
