Finding Dory Official Movie Review

Dory is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find them. Her journey brings her to the Marine Life Institute, a conservatory that houses diverse ocean species. Dory now knows that her family reunion will only happen if she can save mom and dad from captivity.

As someone who suffers with ADHD, I found this to be the most relatable Pixar of all of them. I agree the story has been done before in past Pixar and Disney films, but the way they address someone struggling with a disability was just wonderful, which help makes the characters internal conflicts and the drama much more impactful.

This along with gorgeous animation and great comedic moments make this one of my favorite Pixar films and easily my favorite movie of the year. It's defiantly worth taking kids who have disabilities to and It was all about a bunch of fish.

You're so right about the special needs kid aspect. Being a parent of a special needs kid, I saw myself in Dory's parents and Marlin and my child in Dory and Nemo . That's why I loved Finding Nemo so much.

I didn't really see it as the same plot of finding nemo. I could see how others would see that, but I think finding nemo was more of a frustrated father trying to reunite with his son. Finding Dory however for me was a lot more emotional because it put a bigger empasasis on her disability and how it affected her everyday of her life. It was so sad to see her struggle with that, knowing she can't control it and noone wanting to help her except the other disabled children like Destiny. Though nemo did have a special fin I think Finding Dory just did a better job of amplifying special needs people can do anything a normal person can.

In spite of some inspired moments (the truck scene was a real gem), Finding Dory continues Pixar's plunge into mediocrity. It pales in comparison to its superior predecessor and to Pixar's truly great earlier efforts. Nothing to get cross about but it failed to leave an impression on me.

There's more to nitpick in this one than in Finding Nemo and there is some copypasting going on, but it's a worthy sequel and I loved it.

It's alright. It's fun, but it's almost exactly the same story as Finding Nemo, and that is cheap, same way Toy Story 3 is literally Toy Story 2.
I don't know, I like Pixar, but sometimes it does seem like people praise it so much that you'd think they contribute to the film industry what no one else can, or something. Calm down, they're good, but I don't think they're even better than other classic Disney animations.

I watched Finding Leonard Nemoy in 2006 to find out why everyone was saying this cartoon was so good.  I watched it but thought that it was an okay movie.  I watched it again a couple of days ago with my 4 year old and she was mesmerized by it but I left the room half way through because I just thought it was boring.  What am I missing about this movie?  Please don't respond with remarks such as "a brain, a soul etc..."

The premise is mostly a retread of finding Nemo, only it;s Dory seeking reunion with her parents. Talk about cynical franchise cash grabs.
