LS DORMAN INTAKE TEST-TBSS VS DORMAN (LOW vs GO)

preview_player
Показать описание
Dorman LS2 (Rumored to be Fast/LS2 hybrid?) vs factory TBSS intake (Mod 5.3L). The 5.3L test motor featured a Comp 54-454-11 cam, long-tube heads and 92-mm throttle body on each intake. Looking for the power of the TBSS power, but wish it fit under the hood. The Dorman LS2 might just be the answer.

What fuel rails did you use on the tbss?

Doorman intake isn't cheap anymore. Now what's a good buget intake? Love the video.

Yeah, but why would you pick up the dorman for 750-900 bucks when the TBSS can be had with rails, injectors, gaskets, and sensors for around 200-250? It's a lot to pay for very little space saving.

New subscriber. Dig it! BTW, your intro and outro are only in the left audio channel. Might want to make it mono in the future.

What fuel injectors are you running? I have a gen 3 5.3 with the tbss intake and the same style fuel rail.

Hey Richard, Ive searched and watched almost all your videos, but am having hard time finding the answer. For us cathedral guys, stock LS6 intake or Dorman LS2?

Richard, what heads were on the test motor? I am torn between using the TBSS or just the stock truck intake on a pair of 706 heads with a precision 7675. Would there be a low end bog with the TBSS vs the stocker?

My dorman ls2 has held to 16psi so far.

I would run the TBSS manifold if there is room, you can practically get them for free usually with a newer 5.3 engine or used for about $50 .

So has this video been updated? Does the Dorman intake handle boost and if so how much?

I just picked up a ported tbss manifold and ported 102mm throttle body, how does ported manifold help? And how much power increase?

I've referred so many people on other u-tube Comment sections to Richard for Accurate information, I feel like I should get a free gift, I would totally glue a Richard Bubble head to my dash, as long as he's not in a grass skirt 😄

What’s the part # for a tbss intake for a 5.3 lm7

Can you do an Intake Manifold Comparison on Gen V LTs? I would like to know if my 5.3 L83 is good with the stock manifold or if I could have a couple more torque and ponies with another one

Another great test. Looks like the Dorman was down on torque a bit but not enough to really worry about. I’d say the Dorman is a great choice for clearance issues and looks, but you’re still gonna be able to get the TBSS intake for way less money of clearance and looks aren’t an issue. I’m definitely holding out for that boost test. 😉
