New facility to replace Durango Jail and Central Intake

A new facility will be built to replace the Durango Jail and the Central intake at the 4th Avenue Jail.

In 2015, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved the plan for a Durango Jail replacement and a New Intake Transfer and Release facility where people who face charges will be booked and processed The 185 million dollar project will include 1280 bed Durango Jail replacement and 512 bed holding area for people released within 72 hours.

The Durango Jail replacement will be built at the same time as the new Intake Transfer Release facility with a design to make the booking process happen more quickly.

The goal is to have the new jail complex completed by 2020.

I was in durango a bunch of times. D3 to D9 all of them. I'm gonna miss it!
