Trek Culture: "You enjoyed that video."
Picard: "You're damn right"

I love that bit of Patrick Stewart doing the Arnold Rimmer salute. Now that is surreal!

Tapestry is one of the best cases of continuity. It was just a collection of written lines in "Samaritan Snare" (a story of a bar fight) and yet they remembered every detail, even down to him laughing when he got stabbed in the back. It was not until Picard realized it was he himself (his older self) that caused his younger self to lose his heart that he knew why he laughed. I cannot imagine that was the plan all the way back in "Samaritan Snare"

How appropriate to air this on June 16th (here in the states), "Captain Picard Day". (Did you think Trek fans wouldn't notice?)
As always, thank you so very much for the videos.

Correction, the ship that discovered Data was the USS Tripoli. The USS Trieste was a former posting of Data's.

Every Red Dwarf fan beams with immense pride that Patrick Stewart didn't set the dogs upon us :D

For the past 6 months, my partner and I have been wondering, "what does Sean think of Red Dwarf?"

Question slightly answered, but we do expect more in the future. You made my morning getting to see my favorite Smeg Heads on my favorite Trek-based YouTube channel.

August Piccard was also the guy who set a record in a hydrogen balloon. So dad went high, son went low.

For the swearing. Yeah I was one that found it jarring. I found it felt out of place.

But it's use got better.

The grueling hours line was a really good use. Worked perfectly. And Tilly saying something was F cool. I was 100% onboard with that too.

I loved the shock of hearing Picard swear in that scene from season 3 and felt it fit really well!

Jean Picard (1620-1682) was an astronomer who measured Earth to within half a percent and improved the measure of a star's right ascension.

Thanks Sean. That was so f***ing intersting. I applaud Picard for being more "adult". It added realism to an already v.good show.

Well done. I'm still sad there are no references to him as Gurney in Star Trek though.

Many many years ago I went on a date with Piccard’s granddaughter. I blew it, and we didn’t have a second. But I was with her when she got to tell Ray Bradbury about how cool her grandfather was. It was fun to see Bradbury being a raving fanboy. Piccard was a real adventurer.

Here's a deep-cut - the ship Leodegrance that Picard uses in the Lightspeed Club is a reference to the role that Patrick Stewart played in the awesome 1981 Arthurian fantasy Excalibur!
