"Are you an android? Hologram? Come on down! Augment? GO TO HELL!"

I applied and was denied due to the fact I was genetically altered by my parents to increase my intelligence, my holographic friend downloaded the combined knowledge of every former starfleet officer to increase his intelligence and starts his training today.

One of the neatest things I ever saw was this Star Trek game on the Super Nintendo, where you had to play the Kobayashi Maru, and of course no matter what you do, you fail. However if at the start of the game you entered your name as James T Kirk you could actually hail the Klingons, who recognize Captain Kirk as a legendary warrior of great renown, and they stand down, allowing you to rescue the Maru.

Only thing missing is a cadet saying "I'm doing my part!"

My FAVORITE part of this was the Kelvin timeline being called a "dramatic reproduction!!!"

Also, never EVER let Quark take a holo image of you! Unless you don't mind being used as a holosuite toy 😊

You could always enlist, and be part of the roughly 1% of Starfleet that aren't officers. Wouldn't that be fun?

“Why not go study in London and get a British accent?”

Brilliant

Someone should do an analysis of which job path is the most deadly. Red shirts sure seem like an obvious choice but engineers get picked off by warp core breaches in huge chunks. Science could be the safest if you can avoid being infected or worse.

I'd like to think Locarno and Paris are twins, but that Locarno lived with his mum and kept the maiden name, while Paris kept his Dad's name. Locarno then was redeemed during the Dominion war for rescuing Seto Jaxa from a Cardassian prison during the war, and for saving the Exeter. Paris going on the Voyager already did it for him. They were reunited in 2378.

There were a couple of X-Men/Star Trek crossover comics, and the Federation's policy toward the "genetically enhanced"/"superhuman" came up when the X-Men put Kirk (in one) and Picard (in the other) on the spot about it. Picard, having defended Data and dealt with Q wanting to be a Star Fleet officer had a better leg to stand on than Kirk, who'd basically made a Greek God so depressed he killed himself and killed his best friend after he was exposed to energies that unlocked his latent psychic powers.

There were also a couple of priceless moments: Someone says "Doctor McCoy!" and both Dr. Leonard McCoy, M.D. and Beast, a.k.a. Dr. Henry McCoy, Ph.D. (times 6) say "Yes?" at the same time, and in the other crossover, both Commander Riker and Cyclops (Scott Summers) comment on how much Captain Picard and Professor Charles Xavier resemble each other (Sir Patrick Stewart, of course, played Professor X in several movies, as well as playing Captain Picard).

I like to think that Boothby was born in the Utopia Planitia colony on Mars. That would make him my favorite Martian.

Gotta appreciate the sheer breadth of the references here. I think I spotted something from every series except TAS and maybe Discovery.

A franchise license for Quarks in New Mexico sounds absolutely amazing

You missed that there are ways to join Starfleet without going to the Academy. They have enlisted ranks where you just do a boot camp and then everything is OTJ training and extention courses. Yes you start lower than an Ensign and get the worst jobs but you can work your way up to a comfy NCO rank like Chief Petty Officer.

It is rare that I bother commenting on a video, but I have to say this was by far the most entertaining video I've seen on this channel. The fake news format is great, and you managed to summon entertainment from some rather boring episodes... "So start sucking up to anyone with a few pips on their collar." Brilliant!

Please bring me more.

1:51 Wesley was on a Fast-track program. That program only had 1 spot that year.
His path was *not the normal path* to the academy. Nogs was.

I'd like to see something based on the Academy during the Dominion War. I wonder if it was shortened to get bodies into the front lines, if standards were lowered, etc.
