Happy 200k! I do think the market is totally different now than when Tamika purchased her home. Rent many times is cheaper than buying in today’s market.

I experienced the same thing with taxes, at the closing, the closing team approached my lawyer and I saying they discovered taxes owed to the state for $5700.00, so we would not be able to close. I surprised them and said I can pay that now, it was too late in the day to get to the state office, so the next day I went to the state and paid the 5700. The closing officer said if I had the funds to pay it and brought them the receipt, they would close the loan. Well I got up the next day and paid the taxes and went to the closing office to present my receipt, and they instantly handed my closing documents and the lock box code for the keys. Thank God I had saved more than my down payment and closing cost, or I would have lost the house. They blamed my loan officer for not discovering the tax debt ahead of time.

Also do what you have to do to afford a house...we had a 1 bedroom, us kids in the bedroom, my parents in the living room before my parents purchased a house
