Показать описание
The best style of firewood log splitter finally revealed! After running quite a few different styles, makes, and models of splitters we share our thoughts on which is best! All Wood, Brute Force, Eastonmade, Power Split, Wolfe Ridge, and so many more manufacturers to choose from but that’s not what this is about. This video is about what style of splitter is best and for what. We’ll touch on a few different situations, set ups, pros, and cons to hopefully help you make a decision on what’s best for you! Everyone’s set up is a little different and one size doesn’t necessarily fit all.

This is truly 1 of the best videos I have ever seen. You explain it all beautifully and simply to where people can understand it. Thank you.
And Happy New Year! Chip

Extremely well done with simple honesty!!!
I was just thinking about the 12/22! Don't have the money to speak any louder than talking to myself.

Thank you, Heath. You made a lot of good points comparing the two. Especially the power increase in the horizontal and the transportation.

Hi Heath, good video of the differences between the vertical splitters and the Horizontal splitters. One thing I would add is that if you have the extended tray for the Eastonmade for the large rounds it makes it somewhat easier as most of the time the pieces from the first split fall onto the extended tray, but not always. I also could keep those pieces there until I was ready for them. I didn’t even know about the extended tray as an option until I went to Woodsman days. BTW, the hat arrived today and you can I’ll see it on upcoming videos. Thanks again

Great video Heath. You hit all the pros of each machine. I still like the idea of one of each 😅.

Great video Heath! You hit all the pros and cons to both types of splitters! Just like you said, it really comes down to what type of output you want and what type of splits you’re looking for 👌🏻
Now you better get that kitchen finished 😂

Good comparison Heath! I’m sure this will help anyone trying to figure out what splitter is the perfect fit for them and their operation.

Great comparison Heath! I would have loved to get the axis but the height was a problem to be able to park it inside. That's why I bought the 12-22. - Tim

Sad to see the 12-22 go, but sounds like it is going to a good home. Best of luck on the kitchen momentum/ progress.👍🙂

Great topic for a video Heath. I happen to be one of those people going through that right now. Everything is telling me that vertical is the way to go for my operation. Evan will be leaving for college next year and a log lift is a must. I’m looking at the Wolfridge VS 17 C! the only hangup is the extra cost to get into a vertical for me. You made a lot of great points.👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Thanks Heath! You commented to me recently that you planned to do this video. The video confirmed what I was thinking and plan to buy. I will only criticize one thing in your video and that is that you walked around the horizontal splitter w/o mentioning that a pile of wood or a conveyor may be in the way when going around it in that direction. So, it would be interesting to see if you timed yourself doing a face cord using both machines. Please do bundle size or smaller wood.

Both great splitters types. I definitely can’t afford both. So I probably get a nice horizontal. You sending the 12-22 to Idaho for me 😂 keep up the good work.

Good comparison. I just split a bunch of about 36” Beech rounds on the Axis yesterday. I did have them cut in 1/2 with a chainsaw so I had a chance of moving them with just one person. Sliding verses catching seems way safer.

Congratulations to the new owner of the 12-22…! I certainly wish it was coming to New Jersey. But I definitely could use an AXIS over here!

Thanks for doing the comparison between vertical and horizontal. I personally think for myself a vertical is the best for my use. One thing I can’t believe is not many people have built tables like your all wood round table. I seen yours table right when you got it. I built mine the next day. I wouldn’t be without it. I set it at 36inch table height. About the same height of an Axis. My round table is really an all wood table. Hold right around 1/3 Cord. If you don’t mind me asking what does a used 12-22 go for these days? I’m sure it wasn’t hard to move.
