I'm a Pontiac guy and have owned my own 69 GTO since 1983. But there was no way, even being a Ram Air IV, that I thought the GTO had a chance. That car was massaged to the limit for sure. Both cars are a couple of beautiful examples of Detroit's finest in 1969.

WOW! A couple of my personal favorites and "Holy Grail" muscle cars. They could Also be potential bracket cars running pretty consistent times if they're not destined for a museum (I SO hope NOT). And the almighty RAIV for the best 2 of 3 against Chevies legendary ZL1, no easy task for ANYTHING HiPo automotive. Thanks C&Z for sharing.

Another Clash of the Titans...this is a pretty even matchup, overall. Amazing reaction time with the GTO. Would love to see this GTO face off against a Hemi..that would be a great race.

Hot rod elucidation at its finest. Knew the GTO RAIV was fast -- but I didn't know it was that fast. And the driver was exceptional.

Goodday C & Z,

Wow wasn't expecting that result. Anytime you see a ZL1 you automatically think they are unbeatable in stock form.
Very impressive numbers from the
Poncho showing its full potential with those oval port heads they are famous for in the RA IV.
Also the cubic advantage & double pumper carby on the ZL1 makes the win even more impressive.

Suprise result

Stay warm I hear there is alot of snow where you are, on the other hand it is summer here & we are cooking in the heat. Plenty of beach time.

Fun Fact,
My dad actually owns this car today and it’s still the same color and is also in great shape!
The 69’ GTO is one of my favorite cars ever made and my dad’s runs just as good as it did in this video!
