How to Upload Videos to YouTube From Your Phone

You can upload videos directly to YouTube from your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone.

All you need is a YouTube app and a YouTube channel. Simply launch the YouTube app and press the plus sign.

You can record a video or give it access to your photo library or gallery. Choose the video you want to upload.

Make sure you fill out your title, description, and the rest of the requirements on this page.

You should also use tags in your videos and you can use another app called Tubebuddy for that.

I used to be able to upload a video right from the YouTube app without having to run through too many hoops. But now it’s gotten too complicated! Is YouTube getting too good for beginner videographers, just like eBay got too good for budding entrepreneurs?

Why isn't it giving me access to all the videos on my phone? I press "upload a video" and it only brings up a handful of videosfrom my gallery. Very frustrating! Not only is it not allowing me to access all the videos in my gallery but I also want to upload from my "files". Why can't I access these things? It gives me no choices at all except for a few random videos from my gallery.

I would suggest you add a segment on how people can make the content of their Photos app available for YouTube to upload if they initially aren't seeing any files available for upload. After a recent software update, my wife's YouTube upload function showed her a blank screen. There was a camera button to record new videos, but none of her existing content was displayed to select for uploading. We had to go into the phone's Settings, select YouTube and change the selection to allow YouTube to see ALL Photos before it would display her files to make them available to upload.
