Trump accuses DRC of bringing people from prison to the US

In remarks on Friday, one day after a jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts, former President Trump said, "Congo, Africa just released a lot of people, a lot of people from their prisons and jails and brought them into the United States of America."
Trump has made similar claims about migrants from the Democratic Republic of Congo in the past, which drew a response from the DRC.
In a text message to CNN in March, DRC spokesperson Patrick Muyaya Katembwe said “Everything he is saying isn’t true” and “we want him to stop” telling these stories, since “it’s very bad for the country.”
Trump has not provided evidence for the claims.
