Paste Text ONLY - NEW Shortcut in Word #shorts

Microsoft Word got a new shortcut - Paste text only. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just copy and paste a formatted text without having to manually remove the source formatting like font size, type, or background color?

There is a shortcut called “keep text only” or “paste plain text” in other applications like Microsoft Teams. And now it's available in Word for Windows and Word Mac too! I'll show you how it works in this video.

Requires Microsoft 365. The shortcut will not be available in Excel 2021 and earlier versions.

Ctrl+Shift+V also works on browsers. Useful when pasting plain text into emails and chats.

Pretty good idea to separate the different usages of format painter with the shift and alt key. May be they can split other options features like this.

I have been using CRTL-SHIFT-C and V for copying and pasting formats for 20 years.
The ALT change is aggravating. How do I get CRTL-SHIFT-C and V back to paste formats?

BTW. have you done a video on the paste buffer? WINDOWS v instead of ctrl v.

Update: ctrl-shift-v doesn't work for me. Windows 11, Office = Microsoft 365 MSO.

But check out windows-v to paste. You'll love it.

Pity they didn't add this to OneNote which is where I'm always pasting things. I rarely ever open Word. I can make text the default paste, but it would be nice to have shortcuts so I can decide at the time faster.
