AC Not Cold - Fix Car Air Conditioning Blowing Hot

How to fix car blowing hot air when AC is on. It's actually a really simple process to refill your car or van air conditioning. Just buy a can of freon and a gauge to connect everything. Squeeze the trigger until the can is empty and your AC should be blowing cold air. I did find out that my system was so low that the small can wasn't enough and i should have bought a second can to get the car to blow really cold air.

Make sure you wear safety gloves and eye protection. You don’t want to get frost bite and become blind if that gets into your eyes. Well I don’t really care what you do but just a word of caution. Be safe.

✌🏾You just saved me $1600
Honda service asked for $480 just to run a diagnosis

Ended up spending $50 at Walmart and doing it myself

Great video. I had to do this a couple of times on my 2003 and there wasn't nearly as good of a YouTube, though there was enough info in 2006 to get me through it. I just forwarded this to my daughter whose 2001 Highlander just stopped heating/cooling.

with the engine running, you should NOT hold the refrig can, upside down. That lets in liquid, & it doesn't compress. Rightside up, & sideways, let's in the mixture, as a GAS, and the system will accept it. Also; gloves & eye protection plz.

I filled it with freon. I need to know what else would cause it to not work.

Was that welcome to the machine at the end of your video?

It seems to me that if you have to recharge your A/C, Then the coolant must have leaked out somehow. Won't the new coolant also leak out ?

If the pressure on the gauge is so low that your compressor clutch does not engage when you turn on the air, you must remove the A/C relay and activate it manually otherwise you will not be able to recharge your A/C. Check videos on youtube on how to engage your cltuch manually.

Ok the can says to keep it right side up... it never even got cool air. The compressor come on after awhile so it was filling it up an I checked the level the next day but no cool air... Does it matter if it is right side up or upside-down and what if the pressure gauge is wrong ?? Could you use a tire gouge? is it just PSI or something more complicated??

guys...make sure you know how much refrigerant you car is supposed to make sure you compressor is running when you read the gauge.
