TAILS NEVER FAILS! $600 Budget Legacy Ruby Storm Combo (No Reserved List) | Magic: The Gathering MTG

Bryant Cook plays Ruby Storm in a Legacy League on Magic: The Gathering Online! These matches were played on: 01/06/25

Ruby Storm is a budget-friendly Mono-Red Legacy Storm Combo deck that uses Ruby Medallion to reduce the cost of red spells, enabling explosive turns. By combining mana generators like Rite of Flame, Jeska’s Will, and Seething Song with powerful draw engines like Reckless Impulse, Wrenn’s Resolve, and Overmaster, the deck can achieve high storm counts quickly.

Ral, Monsoon Mage adds another layer of utility by flipping coins for free spells and extra mana, making it a key piece in generating Storm. The deck also leans on Burning Wish and Past in Flames to access crucial win conditions like Grapeshot. Designed with affordability in mind, this $600 build excludes Reserved List cards, offering a competitive option for players new to Legacy. And yes—tails never fails!

A massive thank you to Leon Große-Stoltenberg for their donation deck! We hope you enjoy this exciting gameplay! If you do, please don't forget to subscribe, like, and comment!

Perfect timing! I searched this deck on youtube today loving it in Modern and interested in trying it in Legacy. Thank you as always for the awesome content. P.S. I am one of the people who asked about the Ral Monsoon tokens

Great league
I've been feeling the stress on the manabase aswell, especially if a T1 Sandstone Needle gets wasted. Another basic Mountain as Land Nr. 17 sounds reasonable.

I switched the Empty for Elemental Eruption because I've found myself in low gas situations or mana/ritual-flooded vs. Tempo later in the game and just being able to make dragons on a low storm count to either win or buy time was a nice option to have. Overall Empty might have a greater use case though, as you said.

Round 1: I would never have been able to cast that MBT and keep such a straight face. bahahaha

Idk if you ever considered it, but at some point I was playing wooded foothills and Taigas to have mainboard Veil of Summer. It makes you weaker to wasteland, but you're so much better against discard and countermagic...i think it's probably better than Overmaster

48:55: "They're brainstorming before damage? That's odd"

They were probably just checking to see if they had a Kaito on top that they could ninjitsu in for value

I wanted to suggest this card last time you played but I was afraid it was clunky I am glad I was wrong.

I like the part where Bryant tails'd all over the opponent.

NGL an offensive Mindbreak Trap is kinda evil. Opp prob threw up a little.
