Is This The ULTIMATE Plastering Trowel?? The Refina Superflex 3 Review (ROSE GOLD EDITION)

In this video we're going to give an honest review on the Refina Superflex 3 Rose Gold Edition.

Refina have always been my best brand for Flexi trowels. They just got it right with the Refina Superflex 2 - but will the newest release match up to its bigger better??

There are a lot of differences with the newest model. First up, it has a much thicker blade (0.5mm) which means it can be used a lot earlier in the Plastering process. They even claim you can lay on with this trowel!

So I'm going to use this trowel throughout the whole process of Plastering, (excluding application which I'll explain in the video).

This is a trough test because I've had no previous use with the trowel which means it has no break in period so it's going to be tough for Refina!

If you want to discover the full conclusion and review for the Refina Superflex 3 Rose Good Edition then make sure to watch the whole video.

Hi Blaine. Good video. Watching your videos has changed the way I work. I use a Refina standard for laying on a Refina speedskim for flattening and a Refina Flex 2 for finishing. My old Marshall town is always in the bucket but no longer used. I really like the feel and quality of Refina. I'm a general builder 71 still working like a dog. Shoulders ache after a day plastering

After watching this video on Sunday about your review on the new superflex 3 I ordered a 14inch that night as your review about it was good. Just tried it out today and its absolutely brilliant and think I'm gonna get a 16inch one to. 👍👌

As I like to say to my apprentice who is probably now in the improver stages and has 30 trowels for one wall it's not the trowel that produces the quality of work but the person behind it, I dont own any flexis or plastic trowels the only addition i made was the plastic st speedskim for big lids which I think are a great addition with the pole, all these trowels and spatulas black edition rose gold mediflex plastic flex etc there all a commodity now, I have 1 trowel for skimming, 1 trowel for floating 1 for rendering etc and I use it through the whole process still, do flexis have space in the trade yes they do when used properly I just think people get suckered into buying all the trowel gimmicks thinking its going to make there walls and ceilings the dogs and get it completely wrong

I've used this first time today and you are so right about the breaking in time, it was squeaking for the first set but by the second it was like I've had it for a month already. Great review and i think the superflex 3 is worth every penny.

Good review Blaine I have the 16" rose gold that I've used for the last month and felt there was a little bit more weight in it. So gone back to my 14" refina superflex 2 my preferred flex since they came out.

Ive been using the tyzack steel for years from start to finish bought an ox flexi years ago and hated it so stuck to tyzack and other week my mate had a refina superflex 2 and loved it after first flatten with tyzack so going to buy one of them gold editions makes it a lot less effort and pressure

I have a marshalltown permashape and have used a wet stone on it from new but I'm unsure how far to take it, how sharp of an edge would recommend, thanks in advance

I think your videos are absolutely amazing. The details you go into and the passion you show is awesome it says alot about you. The one question I have is, will you or have you done videos of trowels with rounded corners? I'm just curious as to the different types of trowels out there.

Hi did you have any trouble with it leaving marks I've had mine for months and it just doesn't give an even finish the superflex 2 is spot on think this thicker blade doesn't work as good as it's too square on edge..

Have you used the dewalt flexi trowel?

Really enjoying your work. Thank you for the info. I'm a handy homeowner here in the states and these videos have really helped.

I do have a question. This plaster you use, British gypsum. Is it available here in the states? If not can you recommend a similar product that is available?

Big arch on your stroke pal, you would be more efficient if you straighten it up a bit in my opinion, although the finish loos good so each to there own

If you sponged the wall would you marshalltown after sponging then use this trowel after that.

Hi, great review, just wondering if you have used the nela mediflex? And how this compares to that for flex ability, my nela has gone so thin now its to flexy to use in the early stages.
