As a plasterer for over 30 years you cant teach some one with a video. Its a hands on thing for many years. . And by the way skim coat plastering not only destroys your body it sucks to do. The money is good but in the long run it sucks when you cant move your body when you hit 60 . Teach people not to plaster

Since 1985 I have taken many different courses about application of acrylic render. They were all inside and man who's doing it had no problems. Once I asked if he could show the same on a wall heated by the sun, or during the wind? He didn't answer. In the following courses I was asked not to scare peoples and potential bayers of that product.. My work experience in cement render, spraying 3mm aggregate and application of very smooth acrylic render from 1985 to 2015 when I retire.

If your base coat is flat then you shouldn't need a straight edge.
Plaster is white, and is made from mixing lime, quick set and slow set. Not sure what this material is, but I'm sure that it's not plaster.i haven't seen anyone mix up a traditional Gauge of plaster yet...
Plaster doesn't come out of a bucket or one bag...
