That's one way to do it, although I'm wondering if that's actually some type of mortar mix instead of plaster, due to the depth it's being applied. Anybody calling her lazy should be beaten.

Сначала нужно тонким слоем размазать по стене для лучшего контакта а потом накидывать слой. А так может просто отвалиться

It is mortar or skim coat if it is plastering you cannot wipe it directly as long as the mortar is freshly applied
