Ingredients:
4 cups (960mL) milk (whole or 2%)
1⁄4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1⁄4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
1⁄2 cup (85g) milk chocolate chips or chopped milk chocolate bar
1⁄4 tsp (1.25g) pure vanilla extract
Dash of salt
~Optional~
Chocolate syrup
Mini marshmallows
Whipped Cream
Method:
Place milk, cocoa powder, and sugar in a small saucepan.
Heat over medium/ medium-low heat (249°F (120°C)), whisking frequently, until warm (not boiling).
Add chocolate chips or pieces and whisk constantly until the chocolate chips melt and distribute evenly into the milk.
Whisk in the vanilla extract and the dash of salt.
Garnish with your choice of whip cream, marshmallows, and chocolate syrup.
Serve immediately.
Tips & Variations:
You can use almond milk for a healthier option for your hot chocolate and if you want to change the flavor, try adding some cinnamon, hazelnut cream, or caramel sauce.
