The judge handled this tenant perfectly. Have your stuff together before going to court! I also suspected pressure to sign a lease was from the daughter so her boyfriend wouldn’t have to pay the last couple months rent on his lease.

It's VERY TELLING that her first maintenance requests came April 4th. Apparently, everything was relatively okay UNTIL she was OVER A MONTH LATE on rent.

So daughter's boyfriend left a mess when she took over the lease and to avoid losing his security deposit she signed off on everything during the walk-through, but now wants the landlord to pay for the mess she accepted. Good job lady. You had to move out of your previous place (for some undisclosed reasons) and already racked up plenty of points on your new landlord's naughty-list. That isn't the best strategy to keep moving expenses to a minimum long term.
