What is the 'right to food'?

Everyone has a right to freedom, and everyone has a right to equality. But what about a right to food?

Food is a human right. And because this right is included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which Canada signed in 1948, it is the government's responsibility to ensure all Canadians can access the food they need.
