I love the F chords. I'd say my favorite one is the Fadd9. I like your two note version, sounds beautiful when finger picking. I've yet to have that throw an instrument moment. Love the channel Darrell.

Tip for beginners playing the F chord:
pick a song you know that has the F chord and just play that song over and over. Doesnt matter if you're getting the F chord sound wrong, your fingers will get used to the placement and the muscles will strengthen eventually and you'll be able to play an F :)

We all know why it’s called the “F” chord.

One time I was peacefully practicing my sopranino recorder, but my roommate came in and kept telling me to stop playing because it was annoying. I argued with her saying that, no, my sopranino playing is splendid, but she kept telling me to stop playing still! So I got so angry that I threw my beautiful sopranino recorder at her face and almost knocked her eye out. Thank god my recorder is okay.

Never did one in anger but we had an old beat up guitar that was falling apart for some reason and my family wanted to get rid of it since we have other guitars in the house. So I took it out to the backyard and smashed the hell out of it rocker style. That was fun.

Took me six hours of straight sitting down and practicing until I got the barre! Don’t give up! And REALLY make sure your playing with the boney hard part and not the soft part. That was a good tip for me!

When I was 10 I had so much fun with the guitar until....I met barre chords. I mastered them eventually but what happened?

I became a bassist XD

You must be Canadian wearing short sleeves and rolling in the snow. I want to throw my guitar like that every time I watch you play, because I'll never touch that talent.

When i first started playing guitar i was learning a song and got so frustrated cause it didn't sound the same. But the problem was that i was picking the wrong strings! 😂 i threw the guitar across the room and it landed on my floor and has a BIG scratch on it! i still have that same starter acoustic guitar today and it plays great! 😂

I threw my practice nylon string guitar across the couch one time and it very nearly went through the living room window. I was SO GLAD that it stopped before it hit that window! I resort now to throwing my pick! I've lost (misplaced) a few picks now and then, but it certainly wont break a window if it hits it!

I have taken my acoustic guitar to a tree once or twice when i first started learning how to play guitar. It is now 20+ years later and I still have the urge to make my guitar firewood every now and then. Thanks for the lesson and keep up the good work.

At age 65, I decided to finally teach myself guitar. Now I know why it’s called the F chord. This is a big help my friend so thanks. Especially in light of the fact that there’s no fluffy snow here right now to cushion my guitar’s landing.

You just saved me a ton of Fadd9, ALL I NEEDED TO KNOW. for some reason had the hardest time holding 1st 2 strings with forefinger after an injury and not playing for weeks. I am simply doing this and can move on to LEARNING....God bless you😂

Glad to see someone teaching this. There are more variations but this is a great start. It's much needed because it actually makes a much more complex sound. For those that have ears to hear.
