I'm an old school Midi guy. That's why I always start my songs from Bar 2. This gives the MSB and LSB midi Banks a chance to pre-load all the data. But Thanks for that info, really appreciated.

Most video games these days release before they are ready and they are broken and suck. I respect that they won’t release it until it’s not broken

I am glad the Beta is on hold to us common folks. Once they fix these bugs, it will be good. I have 11 synths and sound modules I currently control with the MPC X SE via USB MIDI and the traditional 5 pin MIDI ports. You can run up to 32 devices via USB MIDI, which is a great feature vs the 4 MIDI outs. This allows me to sequence better sounding hardware instruments for music production. MPC3 will be great once they work this out. Until then, I am banging out tracks with MPC 2.15. I have no issues with it. Great update video Bolo.

Programs are the backbone sir. you could say the same thing about how Programs are used in MPC3. Programs have always been the backbone of the MPC workflow

Glad that Akai is taking their software development seriously. Sounds like somebody’s listening finally. Hope this permeates all inmusic brands

I respect Akai for releasing the statement they did. How many times have we updated and discovered a few bugs that maybe got fixed but other ones that didn't OR new ones that snuck in? In general, I'd say the platform has become more stable with subsequent updates but if I had to choose between having lots of features with instability or a simpler but more bulletproof OS, I'd choose the latter. In other words, I'd rather the the MPC do a few things well as opposed to trying to offer everything but at the cost of stable performance.

I'm excited for what 3.0 offers. I'm happy to wait until they get it to a place where it needs to be.

I'm still hoping for vst3 support in controller mode but i see now they are having some bigger issues

I'm actually glad Akai did decide to push back 3.0. I saw a few things I didn't like about it and I hope they decide to bring back "programs."

And yes, controlling external hardware with midi is the "essence" of the MPC. If I couldn't do that, than the MPC is not worth me having. That's absolutely

Remember, MPC used to stand for MIDI Production Center, "MIDI" being the key word here.

I don’t mind waiting. I just hate they’ve been pretty much radio silent since announcing this with a vague in the coming weeks. Give us updates and a better idea of when we should expect it would be nice. At least tell us it’ll be out by the end of the year for example lol

Thanks for the update. Yup I rather wait till its working properly. We'll find enough thing to report as a public beta and I don't want common midi functionality to be one of them. I am anxious for it but not that anxious.

I'll only update when they confirm they fixed the independent MUTE per track / per sequence problem. Right now that does not work in the Beta update, causing massive problems for those who used track-MUTES in their workflows.. All my old songs are therefore incompatible with the Beta update - as it stands right now.

Totally agree with you Bolo...i have a roland fa07 and Modx plus a roland TA 6 drum synth i need to control with it...and at present theres no better midi controller than my MPCX love it to bits and the new update looks realy good..i am glad you are helping to debug it mate..keep up the good work Mate 😁😁

I'm in no rush for 3.0, I also hope they don't remove song mode, arranging a song like how it's done in a daw is a cool addition but the OG producers still need that song mode Akai.

I would actually argue that the majority of MPC users couldn't be bothered with hooking up their device to other hardware. They're just amateur enthusiasts aspiring to be the next J Dilla.

I’m gonna wait until the full MPC 3 software comes out I’m completely happy with the MPC 2.0 software it still gets the job done for me ❤

Sounds good 👍 👌, Why we "THE PEOPLE", dont petition for a MORE POWERFUL & MODULAR MPCs to Akai...and IMO MPE PADS....IF we're taking about Major Improvements 😉, We have been more patient than this 3.0 please run it across Akai for the most serious Producers than would purchase that customery Unit if Overproduction is Akai's scare. Thanks

Yeah I’m definitely going to wait for 3.0.2 or even 3.0.5, also the original Akai MPC stood for Midi Production Center, then when they released the 4k they changed it to Music Production Center, shit we used to have the 60 and 3000 control and sync 2” Reel to Reel machines via SIMPTE time code, So a MPC without properly controlling midi, MSB / LSB is critical when changing different instruments and programs on external equipment, nobody wants to manually change the sounds on each external keyboard or sound modules also that would suck if you gain stage your external midi device to blend it with the rest of the instruments on your beat and then you change midi channels on your MPC and scroll through another sound on your external gear pick a sound and volume information changed to your previous track, that shit would drive me insane enough to go into my closet and pull out the 4k and use my MPC live as a sampler / sound module not as a sequencer and keep it pushing.

Honestly, it just feels like 3.0 is the Force OS ported to the MPC. I really need disk streaming for live performance (backing tracks/stems) and have waited years because rumors from Akai saying it was coming. Just didn't need the Force OS, an update to Audio Tracks would have been nice for sure, but damn they really killed the workflow, a tried and true thing, for all future MPCs. I think I will sell my Live II, and just get an Idoru for backing tracks. I still have an MPC60 and a 1000 and they both have a better workflow for MIDI (including drum programs) than 3.0, I know it sounds crazy but it is my hardcore honest opinion. They ruined it.

Edit: They keep saying they're bringing back Track Mutes. That seems like bs, because it simply won't work in the way it did, since Programs and Tracks are now tied together.
