I’ve been blessed enough to have two MPC’s so I did the beta on the One and kept the Live on 2.15

I finally decided to update to 3 this morning and I like it. Not one single problem! It’s worth it for the fact that now you can simply add a track and choose what you want it to be! I never understood the old track and program selection I thought it was confusing and clunky. No longer! I know there’s still some stuff that needs fixing but it’s a beta so that’s to be expected. Or should be. I’m keeping MPC 3.

i have propduced 7 tracks on mpc live 2 with 3.0 through 3.4 beta versions and I have had zero issues! Its actually better. Waaaay better. and way easier!

I just downloaded and installed the 3.4 beta on my MPC Key 37 just to try it out. You know what? I actually made a beat using it and I actually kinda like the new workflow and features. The new mixer screen is a huge improvement over the old one. The workflow of the teack mute and solo screen is an improvement as well. However, the track mutes and solos do have their quirks, which I will explain shortly.

Unfortunately, I did find a few issues with 3.0. I was unable to record track solo events into the sequencer from the track mute screen. That didn't work. As another YouTuber has already mentioned, the track mutes don't work quite the same way they used to, and Akai is currently working on fixing that. So, we'll probably see these issues resolved in a future update, hopefully. Also, I did encounter my machine freezing up during playback of a sequence for a brief moment at least a couple of times, fearing it would crash and I would lose my beat before I could save it. However, it didn't crash, thankfully, and I was able to save my beat.

However, I had to revert back to 2.15. Why, because it WORKS!!!! When I first boot up 3.0, it would just stay stuck on rhe startup screen and freeze. This happened everytime I booted up and even immediately after updating to 3.0!!! When it happened the first time, I thought I just bricked my MPC!!!! A couple of times I hit a few buttons and was able to get beyond the boot screen and was actually able to use it. I took this time to explore 3.0 and make a beat. After rebooting again and still having problems with the boot screen freezing, I tried hitting a few buttons again and sometimes rebooting again until I was able to get past tne boot screen. At this point, I immediately reverted back to 2.15. It's going to stay on 2.15 until Akai fixes 3.0. 3.0 is nice, but it still needs some work. It's not ready yet.

I thought that I would hate mpc3 but I love it . I was gifted with an mpc one plus never been opened and I’ve always had issues when I select drums from my sound packs or expansion packs when I choose the pad sometimes the sound registers I keep trying and replacing it repeatedly until the sound registers. It drives me crazy another issue when I use key groups it works the first time but if I use different sounds on different the sound stop registering and I settle for pluggings . The mpc3 update fixed all of those issues now everything works perfectly no more spamming choosing drums it works the first time every time 😊

I just got my first MPC (MPC One +) about two weeks ago and have been diving into the workflow with tutorials like yours (very helpful). What would you advise a new user like myself on whether or not to update to MPC 3?

Life in Tokyo must be awesome. Especially the music scene. Anyhow no mpc 3.0 for me. If i want a daw, i stick to pc. Anyhow your tutorials the reason i bought my first mpc. Great work bro

I updated my MPC Live 2 and it ruined my chopped samples on my projects. They are no longer chopped and it’s just the sample.

Playing music is not new to me .. been at drum and other instruments since 95 but the mpc is definitely new to me . Picked one up 3 weeks ago and just finally got comfortable understanding how it works . Not ready for some update especially if it’s just a beta.

The update is for standalone dude. Not Software.

That's exactly what I did. I went back to the 2.15 version. On the MPC 3, there's no access to my internal hard drive. Therefore, I lost all of my other expansion packs, some plugins and the stems separation. But when I switched back to 2.15, I got everything back.

Just updated and the MPC is not showing my internal ssd disk, I think it's a bug, gonna downgrade 😢

The new 3.4 software is soooo good. Yall stop being silly. It’s standalone only for now…we all know this. Hook it up to the computer and it reverts back. Just chill and make a beat

Why is no one saying when using controller mode it still works as 2.15. It goes back to 3.0 in stand alone

I was actually wondering if the files are transferrable, meaning the projects. Since I updated to 3 on my Live I wonder if I can open the same project in 2 of the software.
