Your Toyota Engine Shuts Off On Turns? This is a HUGE RED FLAG!

A Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician explains if your Toyota engine shuts off on turns you need to stop immediately and check the engine oil level!

Engine oil burning is an issue with extended oil change intervals. And even normal oil consumption can run your engine critically low on oil as you get closer to your oil change interval.

Checking your engine oil level periodically is very important folks! Make sure you check every few weeks. Takes 2 minutes could save you catastrophic engine damage.

Five minutes of doing a basic check of oil and coolant levels weekly can save you hours and weeks of grief in the future... Thanks for a great video 👍👍👍👍👍

As soon as the video was done I went outside to check my engine oil. That's how important your advice is to us and I'm watching all the way in st. Lucia 🇱🇨

AMD, Will there be a Part 2 to this video? Surely you won't leave us hanging in suspense like this 😉

Man, I really appreciate your channel. You are right, 90% of the people out there do not know the consequences of running low on oil or only changing it every 15, 000 miles. Then they want sympathy when it comes time to pay the piper.

Definitely people should avoid to “Quick Oil” change places (Jiffy Lube, Midas, etc.)

They will always use the cheapest oil, skip the oil filter change even though they charge for it, and always up charge for unnecessary maintenance.

I wish every mechanic was like this channel! Honest and knowledgeable.

Coming soon to a dealer near you! Certified pre-owned. 1 owner. 😅 Runs great, comes with car fax guarantee, no accidents.

I check it every fill up which is roughly every 400-500 miles. Takes 2 minutes max. No reason not too! Also check it after the dealer does their oil change just to make sure it actually got changed. You never know!

I check the oil and tire pressure once a week in all my cars. Standard operating procedure for me as it takes just a couple of mins.

This is a very good lesson. This means that new cars will burn oil too. The misconception I had was that new cars never burnt oil, but they do. Thanks a lot.

We've all made expensive mistakes about one thing or another. I'm glad to see you don't judge people making their own mistakes in your area of expertise. A lot of your subscribers aren't as good at placing themselves in the shoes of someone whose strengths and weaknesses are different from their own.

But the subscribers who think they're superior/perfect, also make mistakes in areas they don't understand. Maybe a tax accountant would find severe flaws in their retirement planning, a real estate agent would know they made a horrible choice of where to live, a fashionista would know they'd been ripped off with counterfeit clothing, and a board of health inspector would know they'd been raving about a restaurant with rats in the kitchen.

It's great to not run your car low on oil, etc. It's not great to think it means you're smarter than someone who does. The car owner could be a brain surgeon or a Nobel Peace Prize winner for all we know.

My dad taught me check my oil every 1000 miles. I still do that today, even on the new vehicles I've bought over the years now (I'm 45.)

I ran into your channel researching Toyota camry hybrid! I'm so glad I did!

I changed all the oil now on my cars! That's so neat!

When you say you're supposed to check the oil every week for car care nuts, can you make a video of the habits we should have to make sure our cars last a long a possible?

Thank you!

Great job! As an old guy, I’ve owned many vehicles. Every owner’s manual says to check the fluid levels at every fuel fill up. Besides, what else do you have to do as the tank fills? Needless to say I’ve NEVER had any “surprises.” Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge. God bless you, your family and your business.🙏👍

A long time ago I use to use those "quick change" places and I would always check the level when I got home. Almost all of the time they would either under fill it by a quart or over fill it by a quart, so long story short I stopped being lazy and started changing the oil myself. now its perfectly filled every time and with good oil.

One of the most important lessons passed to me as a responsible car owner was how to change oil and how to check it. This was as a teenager before I learned about engines.

I check my oil every time I fill up on fuel, takes a few minutes, and change my oil every 5k. Never had an issue

I have all new respect for people (mechanics) that work on cars like this. Way outside my abilities. I am a car care nut but this would never be something I'd consider doing. Thanks for all the great videos.

My old Toyota with the old school 3S-FE iron block engine had done 170, 000 miles and hardly used any oil at all.No VVTi and all the other crap to worry about either...or plastic parts. So easy to change the oil.The filter is in clear view in the engine bay:you just lean in and unscrew it..and the sump plug can be accessed without even using a jack.[just lie on the ground at front with spanner in hand]No fancy oil required either.

I’ve mentioned this to you before, I had a 2011 Prius. It had 165K miles and used VERY little oil between oil changes of 5k miles, always done at the dealers. These cars were famous for very bad oil consumption. But never a problem with anything with this car. I sold it for a very good price in near new condition. Yes AMD, take care of your car! Despite it not burning oil, I always regularly check fluids and look for any obvious problems. In this mileage I did one brake job, one tire change and one 12V battery. Rotated tires every 5K too.

Yep, it's a heartbreaker! I hope this van can recover and be okay. A few weeks ago, I was in a line at a stoplight and noticed a car in front of me was blowing thick, white smoke...oh no! As we pulled away, I noticed it was a beautiful white early 2000's Toyota Avalon....oh no!!
