You are one of a very few channels on YT that is excellent in upcycling or repurposing!! And I've watched a lot. Mostly appreciate no $🌳!! Thank you!

The strawberry picture reminds me of something I own. My father in law managed a garden center for almost 50 years. While shopping in Iowa there was a 40 page color garden catalog from 1943 in mint condition. It was the same company he worked for. It was priced $39.99. Yes I bought it. It fits in a ready made 8 x 10 wood frame. It’s so colorful and beautiful. I am so honored to have this piece in my home. Great video! I love the canisters, frames and all. Love your new home. I’m sure you love it too!

Wonderful thrifted projects. Love the oil painting frame afterwards and would love to find one of those bicycle plant holders. 😍😍

I am glad you kept the floral painting. I am First Nations Cree, with a Métis lineage as well. The floral design is traditional to Métis people, and that particular pattern was often beaded on moccasins and other clothing items. Métis are known as Flower Beadwork People and their floral patterns are often sold as Cree or Ojibwe, but it is Métis (now days the pattern is used by many nations, but is original to Métis) A lot of story behind the why, so I won’t relay it here, but it is so good that you didn’t cover the paint. No it is not antique but the dedication of the artist is cool to see.

I like the strawberry print and frame. I’m glad you were able to keep the wood look on the canister set as I love wood pieces. The oil painting looks so much better with the black frame. I need to get back into painting, especially oil painting. 😊❤

That oil painting is gorgeous!! I have an old painting but believe it's a printed replica in an old frame and I'm not sure what to do with it. It was my Grandfather's from early 80's and it's faded a smidge, but would love to send you a photo of it to get your take on it if you don't mind. 😊
That frame trick around light switch is genius.

You mentioned needing to update your light switch covers. They can be expensive since most homes 20 or more including the plug in covers. I updated mine with napkins. Painted with white chalk paint and modge podge the napkin. Then polo acrylic sealer. The swithes i painted with black model paint and then rub in buff. Because i have a cabin and napkins had deer bear elk etc. So earth colors. Came out great. My inspiration came from all your helpful videos! Have held up 6 months so far. If

I often cover switch plates and outlet covers in pretty papers and fabric.

I’m happy to see you finally add some color to the graphics you design. The strawberry print was really cute. I’m not a fan of adding frames to the cheap plastic light switches. Though the frame you used was lovely I think the frames just bring more attention to the ugly light switches instead of enhancing them. I’ve tried so many things to make mine look better but haven’t found a solution yet. I was excited to pick up some brass light switch covers at Habitat for Humanity. I got home and realized they also just framed my ugly switch covers or were for different light switches. Hopefully I will find a solution soon or be able to replace them slowly. Weren’t the canisters already worn, well loved and used over time already? I understand rounding the corners and restoring the finish but we try so hard to achieve authentic looking vintage and worn looks. Sanding every edge and making it look purposeful when you already have it naturally confuses me. I understand appreciating handmade items like pottery, oil paintings and handmade wood items but I don’t understand wanting to make the hand painted floral design look like a transfer. Paint is usually raised on hand painted surfaces but to each their own and I’m glad you love how they turned out.

Years ago I used to decoupage those inexpensive basic light switches. Did all sorts of designs. Even did the ones in my boys room with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...the original ones from 80s

like the canisters with the flowers showing as I like anything floral

The sides without the art looked like they had flowers from the knots in the wood.

Bamboo should be misted occasionally to keep it from cracking and drying out.😊
