I have my mother’s luggage from the same time period. Ours is in a lighter color and not quite as pristine but still much loved. Mom referred to the smaller case as a “train case”. I use it as a portable office when I go to craft events and it’s like having her with me.

You made my day with the Samsonite piece. My folks had the 3pc set, 2 larger suitcases plus the one like yours. After they passed I have kept them for our vacation memories when I was a kid. Hope you make some memories with yours!

Use the leftover wood from the toilet paper holder as a picture frame. It would look great for vintage pictures of flowers or birds just about anything you want. With some brackets, you could make a hanger from the spindle to display it on your wall. 👍🤗

My grandparents had the set of Samsonite that the train case was part of. I had Samsonite from the 60's that I recently sold too. Funny how things come back around! I love the lamp from the glass vase. I have a big round glass fish net weight that's full of sea water. It's the same color as the glass you found. I think it's from a certain era. My dad found that fish net weight on a beach in Brazil in the 60's....he was working there and that was in the days when they allowed you to bring things back to the US from foreign countries...no questions asked! I love the galvanized canisters and my favorite thing you made with them is the lantern. It's so charming and so pretty! Really great thrift finds today!
