2016 Tacoma 2.7 2wd Real World Towing MPG Test (22 MPG?!)

The real 4-cylinder Tacoma nobody told you about. Not only can it tow, but it does so pretty well. I hooked the Tacoma up to our pop up and took it out for a scenic Florida 106 mile real world mpg test. Can it beat the EPA estimate highway mpg number while towing?

I got the same truck and engine setup I've towed up to 4000lbs with it, but normally I tow 1500-2000lbs. it is fine on flat land if you keep it at about 65mph, but on hills and stuff it's basically WOT to hold 65-70 mph. I have learned when towing to just keep it in sport mode in 4th gear for hills and whatnot
. Flat ground towing I get 20ish, but with hills it drops to around 15mpg

Yes, but you had nothing in the trailer for weight! Lets see it with about a 1000lbs in that thing!
