I like to point out that Japan is 1.5% Christian but celebrates Christmas. It's an old solstice party the Church couldn't get rid of. Anyone can do what they like with it.

Thats why my fav Sufjan Stevens' Xmas song is "Come On, Lets Boogey to the Elf Dance", as it includes all 3 Christmases: Santa, Jesus, and your own Personal Traditions (like your aunt gifting you socks every year)

In Catalonia (Spain) we have a trafition called "caga tió" based on hitting a Christmas log with sticks to make it "poo presents". It certainly has the same agnostic spirit as Hankey The Christmas Poo

Trey and Matt are so spot on with their criticism of religion in general. It got lost a lot in the toilet humor but they are pretty solid dudes

I prefer the "Hogfather" version of the same basic concept because it is not really only about Christmas. It is about holidays in general, because if you really think about it the very concept is absurd. There is no objective reason for one meaningless day to be considered different from any other. Why must there be a Christmas, or an Easter, or a Hogwatch. Why are so many times of Joy in winter, the coldest darkest time of year. It is because we need them, we do it because it is an important part of being human. Because we need to have a sun, rather than just having a ball of burning gas illuminating the world. To have fantasies, to have dreams, is what makes us human. Even if those dreams are about something as silly as a fat elf in a red suit.

Didn't it start when Kyle's mom butted in, raising a fuss about Kyle playing Joseph of Aramathia?

Interestingly enough, this concept is pretty much absent in my country, Russia. We don't really celebrate Christmas, but we celebrate New Year's Day, which is a fully secular holiday.

We celebrate New Year in Russia, no matter of what is your confession! Soviet Union did really find out how to make it

We all know Christmas is just leftover pagan solstice symbology. Io, Saturnalia!

imagine it being your birthday and your friends going, well lets have a party but not not for your birthday lol
I love santa lore and decorations and gifts as much as anyone else, but I think we have to respect that the day is much more and is meant to celebrate a very important beings birthday.
I don't see why that can't be for everybody? Thats literally why He came to earth was for everybody on the planet and everybody period.
Even if you don't know Him personally, again bday analogy, say your friend invites you to their friends bday party but you dont know them, you still celebrate, you don't sit in the corner and celebrate something else, and be like nope sorry don't believe in bdays lol.
I've always found this puzzling.
This is not to say we can't celebrate other holidays that are around the same time all at the same time. some people also have their own bdays on christmas ta boot.

Hate to break it to you, but this is in horizontal format, not the vertical Shorts format.

Christmas is about Christ. It's in the name.

Isn't Santa Claus secular enough already? CHRISTmas is about Jesus.
