How to fix light flicker in Adobe Premiere Pro

Today I wanted to address a problem that always seems to creep up... Light Flicker. Light flicker seems to happen when shooting in higher frame rates like 60fps or 120fps. Here is a little trick on how to fix light flicker in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or any other editing program out there.

This technique is good if your camera doesn't move, it's even better if your subject doesn't move either.

To those claiming it isn’t working for them, it may depend on the frame rate and/or shutter speed you shot your footage at? I’m not a camera guru so not sure exactly how it works. But I assume that has something to do with why it’s working for some and not for others…

It works. Thanks. If it did not works, try to zoom the video so that you can easy shift 1 frame. But first the video must be cut? If the video full, you cannot shift it? Try shift 1 and 2 frame. Does not work? Try 2 and 4. Still not works? Try 3 and 6. And so on. I works on 3 and 6. Below that the video still flickering.

what helped me is to play around with the opacities of the layers a bit. 33/67% didn't work for me. but 40/60% did!

I used this but it's making my footage like the subject is getting more blurry or motion blur effect which is looking odd and also the slip tool ain't working correctly

thanks for the vid. Much appreciated. A small tip for you. Saliva sounds were very prevalent in the vid. Drinking water or eating a slice of apple will easily fix that. 🖖

Any idea how to fix the stuttering effect you get from this?? I feel like this is almost worse than the light flickering

the slip tool won't work if the clip in uncut. Can anyone explain why the slip tool can't be used in such circumstances

I'm working with some 119.88 fps footage and am having the flickering issue with a bunch of christmas lights that are in the frame. I have proxies made that are in 60fps and there's no flicker with those, but as soon as I replace with the higher res clips, the flicker is back. This technique kept the flicker and added a strange almost motion-blur effect to the footage. Any tips for this when working with such high fps footage?
