There is one way you can circumvent the $49.80 charge on that first one: Use a virtual credit card number! You can even assign it with a $5.00 limit. That way, if the website verifies the number before charging the $0.89, it will still go through, but the $49.80 charge will fail.

This reminds of the sites that will give you a free estimate on something but you have to give them all your contact information and they give your info to a bunch of contractors who will contact you to set up a visit to give you that free estimate.

Researched this a while back. How they track your number is through the cars Bluetooth link to the phone used revealing the GPS of the phone itself, phone is pinged to see this location information. I think I’ve phrased this in correct order, but you get the gist of location tracking. 😏
