Another good thing to add is that if you are worried about cost, buying used equipment and supplies is definitely cheaper. Any stained glass artist knows that taking care of their equipment is a must. You don't really have to worry about buying used equipment for stained glass like you would for other things. It is also a great way to see if stained glass is for you without burning a hole in your pocket. You can find some really great deals on stained glass supplies from people who are looking to get rid of their stuff.

I took a 5 night adult school course many years ago. I think I paid about $70 for the initial supplies.
As I began my first project, I had trouble with the pieces being cut properly. My husband, who was a mold maker and engineer told me if I was serious, I had to invest in professional, quality tools. He took me to a stain glass shop and bought me a top of the line glass cutter. From that point, the work was considerably easier.
My first project was a small window frame of a hummingbird and flowers. The teacher told me not to bother cutting glass for the hummingbird's eye. "Just put a dab of solder in that spot", she said. When my project was finished, she looked at it, and seeing I had cut a tiny piece of glass for the eye, she said, "You brat. You did it anyway." She smiled and congratulated me on my finished piece.
It was a fun hobby to take up. I immediately took another short course at the glass shop near my home.

I'm brand new to stained glass and starting out from scratch. I've been watching a ton a tutorials and I'm at the point I want to start getting my kit together. Most of the info I'm finding regarding types or brands of soldering irons is geared towards soldering for electronics and not stained glass. I was wondering, when you do your equipment video if you could get specific about brands and features the soldering iron and other tools need to have for stained glass specifically? Thanks for your vids!!

Hey....So, I just paused your video to tell you that I'm so thankful I found you. While I obviously appreciate your talent and willingness to share, I wanted to also say that you are ridiculously likeable! So, thanks. Keep doing you. You do it very well. :)

I’m taking my second stained glass class tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to it as I had always wanted to try it and was definitely hooked after the first class. Loved it so much I booked a private class for my sister and me. I know there’s a place in town that rents out the glass grinder. I’m thinking about doing that before I consider buying my own. The only thing holding me back right now is I’m already into quite a bit of expensive crafts/hobbies. My brain keeps going back and forth. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I just discovered your channel and love it. I had taken classes more than 10years ago and enjoyed it. Have done all sorts of pieces large and small. Al in copper foil. I left it some years ago and needed a video refresher. Your videos are just what I was looking for and have been so helpful. Thank you!
