I have been following your videos for some time and find it really fascinating how disingenuous the story got bend. I always understood the necessity of changing some of it because of time constraints but it sometimes baffles me how the essence of some of the story got changed.

Of course being a hero doesn't mean someone immune to human flaws like pride, but Richard Winter alway seemed so perfect. In retrospect this may be naive.

I am in training to be an infantry officer and even our instructors always point at major Winters as the perfect officer. I always saw him as an example and still do, but I realise now that just like my other heroes like David Stirling, Paddy Mayne, Douglas Bader and Digby Tathum Warter and many more he wasn't perfect. This comes as a bit of a relief because for a long time I ask myself: how can I ever be even half as good major Winters and what is to become of the men I will have to lead if I can't reach that standard? Knowing that flawed men can do such brave and wonderful things gives me hope and confidence.

I'm looking forward towards your next video.
