Some additional Pros and Cons I thought about after finishing this video...
Pros:
- Great soundtrack & SFX.
- Nice screen shot mode & overall clean UI with decent customization options.
- The developers "Smilegate" have shown many times to listen to the community and care about the game.
- Training room where you can test builds with custom stats/engravings is amazing.
Cons:
- "The Tower" should be balanced separately for Healers & DPS, It's impossible for bards to clear tower fully at suggested item level.
- There's a big botting issue in NA/EU due, reason being that Korean games require Korean SSN so devs often overlook the possibility of cheating when porting the game to other regions.
- Life skills seem a bit underwhelming compared to other MMOs and are only really used as a money maker by creating battle items.
- Abyss raids such as Argos don't show remaining boss HP % upon wipes like Guardian raids, I find this really annoying and causes frustration in raid groups.

One major pro for me that I feel like all MMOs should have is the in game codex. When I clicked on it and saw you could search for pretty much anything in the game and it will tell you where it is or comes from I was shocked. It’s so extremely helpful, it could be better but man is it nice. Especially for looking up rune drops or cards

The boss in the tower that covers his mechanics isn’t rng, you’re just supposed to watch his hands for which attack hes gonna do. Hands spread out means stay away from him and hands together mean stay close to him.

I had to quit, i still want to play other games, and lost ark doesnt seem to give me that opportunity. It asks to much and gives to little -> prime game if you are unemployed tho

In most MMOs, the devs put the "build choice stats/attributes" on the gear, so you mainly just choose gear and skills. Here, they put it horizontally (gems, engravings, accessories, skill runes, card catalog, etc.). Not sure how I feel about it yet. Certainly took time to learn and can imagine it's confusing/overwhelming and seem like unnecessary complexity for casual players.

The combat system is amazing, but unfortunately it comprises only 20% or maybe 30% of the game content, which are locked behind a heavy time gate.
The other 70% to 80% of the game is you running around the maps talking to NPCs that ask you to talk to the NPC next to him.

Funnily enough, the gear loot filtering was added just YESTERDAY to Korea. So you can auto dismantle gear that has stats you are not looking for, or gear that doesn't contain specific engravings.
I just wish that AGS would hurry the QOL improvements over to our client, but stall the gameplay content a bit.

I tried to like the game. I really did, playing it over lvl 50, installing and uninstalling it several times.... but I just couldn't get into it!
Everything seems too familiar and I would just get bored after a couple of dungeons.
Every day is talk to NPC, then another, do dungeon, talk to NPC again and so on.
Then it's do raids, hone your gear, do more raids, hone gear. Fail. Each fail = 4 hours of your life.
I couldn't find the fun aspect.

While I agree with your "pros" I can't believe how many content creators just refuse to acknowledge one of the biggest cons...the leveling experience. The first time leveling to 50 I really enjoyed the surprises and certain things were spectacular while the vast majority of it was a grind. Sure you get free "power passes" to instantly level up a few alts to 50 or spend some in-game gold to "knowledge transfer" more alt toons. But what this tells me is that the developer KNOWS the leveling experience is horrible. And if you find a friend that is on a different server then you HAVE to level up to 50 again since your roster is server specific and power passes can only be used on your roster server where you already have a 50. However, don't think that you can level up with that friend because the level-to-50 experience is designed to be SOLO. The game literally puts you in individual scenarios, even if you are grouped, to play through by yourself which is about 50% of the leveling experience.

I played a ranger and i absolutely hated the ranged combat. It felt like i had to basically be within melee range in order to reliably hit something with ranged attacks. There's a backwards dash attack that jumps you back further than your ranged attack goes.

I also couldn't stand the pre 50 stuff at all. I don't have the time to waste playing 50 levels worth of an unfun game just to start enjoying it, if even, afterwards.

On another note, i just got back into GW2 and am having a great time with that and its new expansion.

Oh man, I wish AGS would've announced the most recent update earlier before this video was posted. The one that's facilitating resources and making it a lot more f2p friendly so that people would've known that they're at least trying to make it better and listening to the community.

You can skip the animation on Honing if you select the gear transfer button then go back to the gear honing tab. The results are generated based on the initial click not on the delayed response of the interaction.

Unpopular oppinion, i actually liked the leveling part first time since i read all the lore and it made me feel very cool to get the boat after 30+hrs of leveling and finally getting to tortoyk where mokokos live was so cool. But the next time i leveled to 50 was horrible G spam. So my conclusion leveling is only ok if you are eaven slightly interested about the story, otherwise it will be pain.

These are a few things I did not hear mentioned.
Pros:
1. The training room is a min-maxers best friend to really figure out ones exact damage (usually over the span of a minute and against a stationary target but option for moving target)
2. The music might be small to some but I can't help but get some of the songs stuck in my head especially the damn romantic weapon for those gruesome honing attempts
3. Life skills are great. Not quite as satisfying as New World but very much up there especially if you find a profession you really enjoy. For me i've jumped between Hunting, Excavating and Gathering.
Cons:
1. The friends list sucks. I have to add people to friends list, roster list, all roster idk it's bad.
2. The bots which are in every mmo and possibly every online multiplayer game ever. (Good they put effort in to stop it though.)
3. Stealth missions. I absolutely hate these xD One of the best parts if not THE best part about Lost Ark is it's incredibly satisfying combat. Why would i do a stealth mission that forces me to walk slowly and not be able to fight back? and no, a lantern that sometimes 1 shots ghouls and sometimes takes 4 shots out of the 6 total light beams u have does not count as combat. Please god no more of these if possible.

It's getting better :)

Also, the fact that on the 50th floor of the first and 2nd tower you cannot see the enemy skill indicators, is just a mechanic and you need to pay attention to how the enemy moves it's hands on the first tower or what color is the sword of the enemy in the 2nd tower/how it moves. It's pretty easy :)

the combination of p2w, fomo, rng and manadatory dailies grind is a big letdown.. atleast in bdo all the horizontal content has it's own independent vertical progression, here it's hard gated

I played this until lvl 50 but then seen how much money people were paying to try and progress and yea they can fuck right off with that.

Pay to win is a tough sell. Can be fun, and it really depends on your goals. For me it wouldnt matter for the content Id like to play.

MMOs that dont rely on pay to win: ESO, GW2, Final Fantasy 14 to say a few, not to gain the same access to end game content as Lost Ark.

I totally get the appeal and have played myself. The pvp right now is also pretty poor in terms of matchmaking and balance but LOVE the GW2 approach of balancing gear no matter the level you are. I need to raid and get further but def glad peeps are enjoying it! Great video as per the norm matey!
