Awe. Here in America, almost all of the decorations are still up from Christmas. Once New Years Day arrives, a lot of people will take them down, but some lights outside are still up. :)

In Indonesia we haven't taking down the decorations up until next week after New Years. So, it started at early to mid December up until (idk what date) of January. Maybe mid Jan? But we do have Chinese celebration so it might still going 😅

It happens quickly in the US, too. Still, some here celebrate twelve days of Christmas, which ends on Three King's Day, January 6.

Join us in Malaysia. Chinese New Year is in 3 weeks. On the 26th, Christmas music in all the malls have disappeared replaced with Chinese music. Cheongsams have emerged too 😆

Wish I could quickly put up decorations that quick like that.

I remember one year I visited Japan around mid January and Christmas was obviously already over but they still had the illumination event in a small park. This wasn't in Tokyo, it was in Kagoshima. I think some places maybe keep their Christmas lights on if the event is extended even after Christmas is over 🤔 still I think this is a silly reason to hate about Japan. If they said something like the volcanoes being active and the ash getting into your eyes, that'd make a lot more sense.

Why can't they just leave it up until New Year's Eve and day SMH

I personally like this so much. What an idea to keep christmss decorations weeks before christmas, and weeks after cristmas?

In my country Singapore they will light up till January 1st

2nd January they will take down and prepare for lunar new year 🧧

Because New Years is more important than Christmas in Japan.
So I was really surprised that we can see Christmas decorations in January in other countries.

Not all Japanese are christian or Katholik. They don't provide all the decorations just to celebrate Christmas but to respect christian and/or Katholik peoples. Once it's passed the Christmas day, they gotta get rid of all the decorations so people could continue their activities as usual without being distracted with all those fancy decorations while walking.

I live in America and in my house I take my decorations down the day after. It's less cluttered and I can clean the next day.

Fun fact: in my country state, we don't even celebrate Christmas, just putting in my posts cuz some viewers might celebrate it.
