I’m a female gaijin who lived in Japan for over a year. I experienced all the things you mentioned and it really made me appreciate the freedom I have in Canada to be myself and live without as much judgement. The gender issues in Japan are so problematic from my perspective and are a huge component of many of the social problems in Japan about people not finding partners or not be able to get married or have kids.

I don't know if it's just me but I feel like all these 'cultures' and 'rules' people make and pass on for generations, sometimes limit a person for mental growth, and learning to think more open mindedly. And it's not just Japan, it's everywhere really. But really enjoy the insight of living in Japan and the culture! Thinking of moving there for design school. Totally agree w/ u about the oppression and the ratio of depressed people in the country due to "too many rules" environment. This is why JPN's economic falling: they can't think out of the box cuz ppl r way too busy keeping up w/ these rules, 24 x 7!!

But japanese Manga is away different thing from what you said, I feel Japan is really more open to express about sexual issues compared with other Asian countries... Why most of japanese men treating the women as an object for a sexual desire, I got your point that expressing about sexual feelings is important but life will not stop on the sexual issues.... there is way more important things in life as well that women need to express their feelings about it ~ sorry for my comment I support your channel but it's just my opinion

I plan to do a work and travel in japan, because I struggle to find work here in germany.
It is my biggest dream for almost 13 years now to come to japan and live there for a certain time, so I guess now would be the perfect time to do so.
I know N5 basic level japanese, so I also think with a mix of english I could communicate okayish in tokyo or osaka.

i plan to move to Japan after achieving wealth. but i do think im quite an “outside the rule” person. i will always respect the rules. but i smoke weed, and my wife does as well. Weed is one of the many things i do that is not acceptable in normal society, but also just in general i feel my style may offend more traditional people. i feel we will have to live in an outside city near the coast to live my life peacefully without disrespecting the cultural rules. I love the culture, spirituality, and even down to style. always wanted to live there since a child, and im nowhere near it ironically. i hope with time and growing consciousness, i can experience a life with my family in a country i aspire to be in.
