DUBLIN, IRELAND — Ireland became the first country to legalize same-sex marriage by popular vote. “Yes” supporters gathered in the streets of Dublin to celebrate their victory.

Irish voters decided on Saturday to grant same-sex couples the right to get married. All but one out of the 43 constituencies voted 'yes' on the referendum.

Sixty percent of Irish voters turned out for the poll with more than 62% voting in favor of same-sex marriage. Ireland joins 19 other countries to legalize same sex marriage.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron took to Twitter to congratulate the people of Ireland. Hillary Clinton also showed her support with a tweet.
