The Richard Pryor Show | To Kill A Mockingbird | 1977 |

A hilarious take on the courtroom scene in "To Kill A Mockingbird," with Pryor playing the prosecuting attorney of a white female who was supposedly raped by a black boy (whose head is at close range of the shotgun pointed at him by the hick sheriff), who is represented by an intelligent Yankee played by Robin Williams. From the racially segregated witnesses to the outrageous double verdict, this is perhaps one of the most memorable bits of the four shows.

The Richard Pryor Show was an American comedy variety show starring and created by Richard Pryor. It premiered on NBC on Tuesday, September 13, 1977.

I laughed while watching this till I was out of breath several times. The recent comedian that has had me in this same predicament, is Kevin Hart. I be laughing so much I have to continuously ship away my tears.😂😂😂

Why on Earth is this video/sketch labeled "To Kill a Mockingbird" - there's no reference to the book, not even a hint of anything or anyone in the book - unless you think segregated courtrooms and false accusations wouldn't be found in other stories, or in actual history. The nearest reference I see is to the Scottsboro Trials, in which the false accusations against Black men did come from "loose" white women. And in the second round of those trials (after the first successful SCOTUS appeal), the Alabama juries (and observers) were deeply offended defense lawyer Sam Leibowitz (who was a "Yankee Jew lawyer" - paid by the Communist party though not a Communist himself).
