wood turning - it's not what you think

You can't judge a book by it's cover. In this woodturning video I am attempting to turn a vase of a different design. This will be a bud vase. It could also be a weed pot or twig pot. I used a branch from a cedar tree for this DIY lathe project. I sanded to 500 and finished with friction polish.

That branch looks like some of that ash like I have that fell victim to the emerald ash borer. Makes a really nice texture but no so good for the tree. Great job.
