Hello here Akin from Turkey. I am 51 years old and I started dj’ing as a hobby. I was thinking about it since 1 year and looking for controllers from Denon, traktor to others. But after I have seen your video’s I have decided to go for the ddj400. And thank god I did that because I almost was going for the ddj1000 on a second hand market which was very expensive. Now I am getting songs and watching tutorials on youtube. Next week i will play on a local Turkish bar here in Dalyan. Hope to learn about cues an fx more but we will see. I like it. In all honesty the way that they are making "entry level" controllers (if you can even call them that anymore) they are making them literally like professional controllers with an entry level price point. The only difference between these controllers and the more ridiculously priced controllers (I liked how you put that) is the outputs for the audio. But even then, if you put your mind to it there are ways to figure out how to set these things up to where you can plug straight into a house PA system or powered speakers without having to plug into a venue mixer. I would definitely use this controller at my gigs whether it be a club, bar, party, whatever. Because its portable, its a good price, you wont feel cramped with a whole bunch of gear in a booth and it has all the features that you need that you would get from a professional controller to rock a dancefloor,  just in a smaller package.

Approximately how long can you dj with it when powered only from the laptop if the laptop is fully charged through the USB cable. (ie not powered by the main power adaptor)? I use Mac pro 15 inch

Buying the boyfriend this today... my first pick, being a pioneer and the pricing is unbelievable. We looked through dozens of others, like The Gemini (same price, but reviews were terrible about it not reading mp3s, CDs unable to play, etc...) He didn't want a controller system (using a laptop) but this is the best best with its functionality and similarities to the 2000+ pioneer systems. Making the switch easier.
