NOTE: standing water ATTRACTS mosquitoes, so if you create such a bucket/container in your garden/yard, you will attract mosquitoes (to kill their larvae). However, if you have standing water nearby that you can't access to use the dunks there, creating the standing water area will let you eliminate many mosquitoes that would otherwise hatch in the inaccessible standing water.

My uncle used to go catch tadpoles in spring to release them into his rainwater tanks. They'd completely get rid of the mosquito larvae for the whole summer, then he'd have a ton of frogs running around his fields for a while but they'd eventually migrate to the woods nearby. I remember as a kid it was so fascinating to see

I can confirm this product does work. I’ve used it for about a year and have noticed a dramatic drop in mosquitoes around my porch. I have a 5 gallon bucket near my porch but nothing around the side or in my back yard. If I go out back I do get bitten more.

Omg wow, you just answered a mystery for me. Just bought a property and next to an old well pump is a big white tub of stinking rotting leaf water just like this one. Could never figure out why the owner had left it there and what it was for. I think you just figured it out. Thank you ma’am!!!

This really works. I hung four buckets at each corner of my yard, filled with water and I use the granular mosquito bits (not dunks), each week. Hardly any moquitos at all.

This is how you get rid of mosquitoes
But let me show you how to get rid of flies:
1. Grab an opened jar/bowl and fill it halfway with salt & vinegar liquid
2. Squirt a few drops of dish soap into the bowl/jar of water
3. Leave it on a table or some sort of surface.
And wait for the flies to get trapped! (Includes fruit flies)

Instead of a stick I put some hardware cloth over the bucket so that my cats won't drink it. That will keep anything but pests out of the muck. Thank you for the video, I just set mine up and appreciate the validation that it works.

I do kiddy pool ponds every year. I control the mosquitios with fish. Mosquito fish to be exact. I just catch them when i empty it each year and keep them over winter inside with a 30 gal tank. Been net positive for my garden and fish each year.

Obviously, you wouldn’t do this where there’s a chance toddlers or babies could fall in. Or if there’s a possibility of having house guests over who would bring their little one. I know of someone who was having a baby shower celebration at their house and someone brought their 2 year old. The older kids were playing with the little one and everyone was having a good time. People went in and out and suddenly the mother noticed the little one wasn’t near her or with the other kids. They said they brought him back to mom but mom was chatting and wasn’t notified they were bringing him back. They found him drowned in the backyard pool, which only takes a few minutes 😢 Please be careful with standing water.
