Directed by Zoé Risser and the Blue Zoo short film of 2020, we are proud to present In Shapes! Born from the single word “puberty” and a brief to combine 2D and 3D animation creatively, this short was created completely remotely by BZ artists and the 2020 BZ interns.

In Shapes is an emotive and poignant mixed-media animation exploring the insecurities of a girl at the swimming pool. Created in portrait mode specifically for social media, the aim of the film is to empower young people who feel insecure about their appearance.

this summer i didn't shave my legs the whole summer. and yes there were stares, people talking about me while I was right there and even people taking pictures [i've got very thick black hair]. but i pulled through, because I wanted to inspire people to be themselves - AND to fk gender norms of course! hairy legs dont stop us from bein gorgeously feminine 😉 let's go for it! 😁✊

1:29 was amazing showing that the way you look can make yourself be powerful I love what this animation teaches 12-13+ years old people starting life I remember when I first got my period I thought it was so weird and I was ashamed of myself until I found out it was a normal thing and happened to lots of young women like me ❤, some people say disney made this but you the awesome creator like you made it with a special purpose behind it . I always hated my body

For example:

I always hated my leg hairs bc ppl used to call me animal or furry


But this video has a big meaning

It showed me that we're all born beautiful and never make fun of anyone bc of their body bc we're all beautiful in our ways!

So if anyone makes fun of you bc of your body

Ignore them!

Bc you will be always a pretty person💖
