RED

‘RED’ is the horny tale of Rudolph as you’ve never seen him before.

Once a legend, hero, and leader of the PACK, he now lives alone in a trailer on the outskirts of the North Pole.

After watching a documentary charting his fall from grace, a fired up Red decides to make the ultimate comeback and reclaim his spot as the King of Deers. Cue a ‘Rocky’ style montage and heaps of deer gags as we witness the sheer power and determination of the world’s most famous reindeer.

In a film bursting with testosterone, carrot smoothies, and 80’s inspired hoof-wear, ‘RED’ is the result of over 2 years of blood, sweat and beers.

One thing I'd like to point out as a cool detail is, you'll notice at two parts of the animation it cuts to the calendar and instead of "X's" to denote a day has been finished, instead Red scribbles off an entire weekend (And then a whole week). This can be interpreted to denote that one has gotten so into their routine and regiment that they're no longer counting the days as if it's some structure and are falling so deep into their training that it no longer matters keeping track of it. And only bothers to once entire days have passed and remembers to do so. A nice subtle way to showcase how hard he's pushing himself. I've done it to in work, college and PT. Very relatable.

I like that it depicts him not jumping right in with a ridiculously tough exercise and absurd routine, but incrementally increasing steps - getting up just an hour earlier, succeeding just a bit more. That what workout and life is about. Not overcoming all odds right away, bit being a little bit better every day.
